I feel Bowe was very easy to hit and very overrated by 90`s boxing fans, but Lewis was pretty easy to hit with the jab, he struggled with Bruno and Mercer who both weren`t very good at landing any other punches using the jab as a set up punch, so who wins between these two highly rated flawed former champs?

A rerun of their Olympic fight in me opinion. Lewis tags Bowe early and piles in with slamming right s .But this time Riddick actually hits the deck .Lewis ko 4

If this fight would have taken place before 95, I see Bowe just dogfighting Lewis by crowding him, coming up superior in a fight like that. I think he was just tougher than Lewis in a very raw fight.

If the fight happens in late 95/96, Lewis became too consistent for me.

Lets pretend both come in the best shape in the middle/end of 95, this would have most certain been the best SHW bout until today. Rly can´t decide who wins this.

Both fighters improved vastly after that final and put on a lot of weight, Bowe only weighed 200lbs in their Olympic final.

Lewis improved a lot by the time he fought Holy.

Maybe true but Lewis would have gone in just as confident and Bowe would still retain the memory of lennox blasting away .That's why IMO Bowe chucked the belt

    Lewis would have stopped Bowe.

I always liked Bowes chances and would have picked him at the time. I still in hindsight think he beats Lewis in 92-94, even though I rate Lewis higher. In 92-94 I like Bowe and maybe by stoppage.

If we are talking 95-96 with Steward and Lewis, well I like Lennox at this stage at both of thier careers.

Hard to say cause when Riddick was at his best Lennox was still coming up , and by the time Lewis started coming into his own in the mid 90s Riddick was on his way down...

I think if Riddick was at his best he could knock Lennox out in a 6 round brawl...like what Shannon Briggs in round one of his fight with Lewis, only Riddick would finish the fight

    Not quite accurate...
Bowe first cracks the top 10 rankings in 90 at number 8.

    91 Bowe #3 Lewis #9
    92 Bowe #1 Lewis #2
    93 Bowe #2 Lewis #3
    94 Bowe #3 Lewis #5
    95 Bowe #1 Lewis #2
    96 Lewis #2 Bowe #9

Lewis rise in the rankings mirrors Bowes only 1 year behind. Hardly one guy on his way up as the other was on the way down.

Bowe was completely shot in `96, Lewis wasn`t ready for Bowe in `91 and got worse by the time he lost to McCall because of Pepe C. His dodgy trainer during that period, it`s when Lewis became No.1 that he really came into his own and Bowe wasn`t around after being savaged by Golota.

Lennox would have won Bowe didn't believe he could beat Lewis and that would have almost certainly affected his performance ala Liston vs Patterson. Even when they were face to face and Lennox is saying I want a shot at the title Bowe response was I thought we were friends.

Mercer roomed with Bowe in the Olympics and always talks about how nervous and insecure Riddick was, the fact that Lennox beat him so easily in the Olympics would play on Bowes mind. You don't give up the title in the manner he did if you feel you could beat the man calling you out.

Me neither, they were both very evenly matched at their best and had the skill set to defeat one another. Pick em...
