Could also be in for Usyk rematch at heavyweight. Sensible fight for Usyk in America before fighting a legit sized heavy. Would be a great matchroom signing if he breezes past Ustinov

Like the guy but he’s too small at heavy.

Plus Matchroom love a yardstick fight. Get Hunter in with a potential Usyk opponent. Then give it the old, he took Usyk all the way chatter.

Stop complaining, this is actually a really good fight and opportunity for Hunter and one hes gonna win. Gets experience against a +300 experienced super heavyweight... who is slow as hell, old, and at the end of his career. If Charr can easily outpoint Ustinov, Hunter will take him to school and run rings around him. Good to see Hunter getting opportunities with Matchroom/DAZN. A lot of good fights available to him in the future down that path.

I am very well aware that it’s a good opportunity and great exposure for Hunter. His health is far more important. He took heavy shots for the entire fight against Bakole who is a concussive puncher.

Clearly I value the health of boxers more than most in this thread. I’d rather Hunter not sustain brain damage when he retires rather than see him get a good opportunity in boxing.

Whenever someone gets seriously hurt or displays evidence of brain damage post career, everyone is quick to offer their token respects. But who here actually cares about their health?

Maybe you should be emailing Hunter telling him not to take the fight? Telling him, his doctor, and the WBO doctor his health isn't ok? Make sure to tell him the 41 year old Ustinov has never KOed or stopped a world level, or even fringe world level opponent in his career while your at it. Hunter schools the painfully slow and timid Ustinov and makes it look a sparring session.

hope Hunter doesn't find an in shape Ustinov who won't be intimidated at the weigh in. then pull out, whining that Chisora, Haye, and the Klitschko's are setting him up to get rid of him.

I get what your saying, it's only a month between fights and it was a tough fight and Hunter did get a cut in that fight too.

But I assume Hunter and his team know what they are doing and that he's recovered enough to take what should be an easy enough fight.

Boxers like Hunter without a big fan base or a powerful promoter backing them need to take opportunities when they come. Getting to work with Hearn and coming in as a late replacement to help Hearn could very well lead to further opportunities and I assume his team think it's worth the risk and this is a good career move.
