Can’t believe that a) it’s took me so long to realise b) nobody else has. There is no wild card! People should be talking about Wilder/Fury but Eddie has got the press and fans speculating on AJs next fight instead. I don’t think he realised how popular it would become so then he added some more fuel to the fire with the “it could be two possible options”.

It’s Whyte if he beats Chisora with a 20% chance of it being Wilder instead.

Posted it earlier in the thread. Eddie's already said in numerous interviews it's Whyte in April. If Chisora/Whyte is a barn-burner then it's very probable as you expect a full "Whyte 2.0" propaganda fest.

With Usyk and Wlad out, there ARE NO wildcards left, unless he means either Fury or Wilder of course.

You can be sure he will add a new twist to this over the next week to match the increasing interest as fight night approaches.

TBH, it's a testament to the poor state of boxing journalism that everyone is going along with this. Instead of putting it to him pointedly in "interviews" (more like sales pitches), the usual suspects just glibly accept what he says.

Definitely. He’s got the Monaco show this week so he will he plastered all over IFL and Sky and I’ve no doubt we will be hearing more about these wildcards.

I'm not saying that. I'm saying I don't believe it's necessary for McCracken or Joshua to be at ringside for a Wilder fight, from either a tactical or promotional point of view.

Maybe the wildcard message isn't really for us but for someone else. Wilder's team, to play up that Team Joshua have other lucrative options? The WBO who haven''t made Whyte mandatory? Whyte's manager who wants more than AJ is willing to concede? etc.

Maybe it’s Fury in reference to his training at the wildcard gym...

I think Ward would take it if the money was right.

I think people are talking about both.
The type of people who would talk about one would talk about the other.

This and the other AJ wildcard thread have 6 pages between them. The Wilder Fury thread on this page has 3.

Any "wildcard" sounds like a major duck from The Bodybuilder.

He should be fighting any of the following in this order; Wilder, Tyson, Ortiz, Whyte (if he beats Chisora) and Miller. Anyone else is a cop out imo.

Let's imagine a scenario that has nightmare written all over it.. Chisora beats Whyte and David Price beats Tom Little..

Wilder negotiations break down again, Price is just sitting there twiddling his thumbs (yes he is gassing after 2 minutes of thumb twiddling).

Price reckons Hearn's "owes him a big fight/payday", Whyte has been beaten, Wilder has priced himself out again.

Is it possible with the sparring story about Price knocking out AJ that Hearn could sell AJ Vs Price to the world?

To me that's a "Wild Wild Card".

The "Tyson Fury adds Freddie Roach" thread has 3.
Let's be honest, people have been talking Fury-Wilder a lot since August, your "Fury-Wilder" thread wasn't the first of its type.
People a bit bored of Fury-Wilder now, until next week, when interest will cause a multitude of threads again.
