Should there be an age limit set for what age a fighter can fight until?

Floyd's done that on his own for years, ha ha.

 

We don't all age at the same rate. They can pass the physical, they are good.

 

Pretty sure Dewey Bozella is glad there isn't.

The bottom line is that you need to pass a physical to compete.

If you're 25 and can't prove yourself fit to compete, you don't get to. If you're twice as old and can persuade a commission to license you, then fair play, fifty or not, you've earned the right to get in there and have a go - so long as the commission is a responsible one and not allowing you to be fed into a mismatch with a much younger and/or more experienced foe.

 

That's under the assumption they:

A. Took a ton of damage. Some fighters will take a lot more in a few years than others in a whole career, and;
B. When they got in to boxing.

 

Taking punches isn't an age thing its an accumulative one most of the time .

I wasn't talking about taking punches I was talking about physically fit which is whats required in boxing not taking punches bc they don't have a test for that????? lol

It doesn't matter if Joshua beats Vitali,your thread is SHOULD there be an age limit ...if Vitali beats 99% of guys today doesn't that answer the thread alongside foreman being 45 as oldest HW champion ?

 

That would be age discrimination in the USA. If you're medically fit and not a minor, you can't be prevented from making a living.
