Are there any chances of a heavyweight champion under 6' tall?

who was the last champion, regardless of his height who destroyed everybody in the top 10? tyson first springs to mind - is that the criteria that you infer cant cut it?

You'll find your parameters are very narrow whatever their height. In fact the last two to destory (or substnatially beat) almost every top ten HW were Lewis and little Tyson. Noone since those, came close at all. The evidence blatantly says that noone can fulfil your criteria recently.

In fact this is the era when two middleweights came up and won HW titles, though one was rescinded for PEDs.

Lennox was "the champ" though. No one would have given even Superman Roy a chance in
    that fight.

Very unlikely, you'd need a freak of nature like Tyson who had it all and a number of other things to align such as having a weak division. Even then I couldn't see this fighter holding the belt for any kind of extended reign as some big super heavy with the right attributes to make his size count would eventually come along and beat him.

Maurice Hooker would make for a decent heavyweight if he had Tyson's genes.
    His reach is ridiculous.
(i used decent as a very loose term there)

It would be an uphill battle, for sure. He'd have to deal with BIG height, size and reach disadvantages.

Sure, if you mean grab a belt like Roy. A dominant champ like early Tyson? Maybe but probably not, for the reasons many others have posted. It would take a perfect storm of skills and landscape in the division. One thing for sure, he'd have to have awesome power.

I would also say a hard hitting heavyweight just under 6'0 would have a better shot than a skills based HW a couple inches bigger but without power. There are precedents for small, hard hitting dominant HWs. No such precedents for smallish, movement based hws.

Oh yes, I very much agree mate. Jones Jr. may stand in the history books as a former HW World Champion, but we all knew who was “the man” back then.

Recent past, present, and future would suggest no as 6'6+ heavyweights are becoming the standard. Never know though, Chagaev was only 6'1 and did well throughout his career against the bigger guys. Id say improbable, but not impossible.

The new 5'10 - 5'11 in the division is like 6'1 - 6'2 lol. Truthfully I don't like the giants. Their style is ugly to me, their footwork doesn't look good and they all box like robots. But they can punch. That's why i liked povetkin so much.
