Sssshhhh Dave, you'll trigger the Wilder fans, we have to pretend 78 year old Ortiz is a monster, punches ridiculously hard and is avoided at all costs.

People blather about it constantly, even though it's not uncommon now in fights where people take punishment. There's been multiple serious injuries in recentish high profile fights, Nick Blackwell was put in a coma, Eduard Gutknecht got extremely severe brain damage, to the point he can't talk or walk at all, and Mike Towell died.

People get far too caught up in this sort of thing. It’s almost as if people want to view it like a video game where they can measure Fury’s power out /100 and quantify whether it’s enough to KO someone.

Point is - he’s an enormous man, and any heavyweight had the potential to KO someone.

What Allen was saying is a bit more nuanced. He expanded on it saying that Fury’s speed and intelligence means he’s more likely to catch you flush with a peach of a punch. Other fighters, whilst they might be harder punchers, didn’t catch him with perfect shots that he didn’t see coming.

did wonder how they managed to find a minute from somewhere for him to recover, likewise we can expect the same against Fury and that AJ would get the same treatment as these two are fated to meet and only a Knockout is gonna stop either.
Would not surprise if some of it’s even scripted.

For sure and given how Wilder falls over and ends up in some odd positions it should only need a well timed punch to putw

20m 28s of the video Wilder gets rocked with 40+ seconds of round 7 left and manages to hold on. Then at the start of the 8th round, the Ref sends Wilder to the corner to get checked by a doctor (with no cut).

If they were that worried by Wilder's health they could have checked him out between the round.

This. Also, Fury just like Ali can sit down on his punches and hurt anybody when he chooses to do so. Fury's excellent timing and handspeed had Wlad completely gun shy, since Wlad didn't want to risk catching a flush shot with a patient and mobile fighter like Fury.

Well then you'll have to speak to the people that decided to change it, because that's how it works now. If you actually watch boxing, especially undercards, you see it fairly often in hard fights.

I've seen journeymen there to lose get the same apparently priveledged treatment Wilder got.

It would seem Paulie Malignaggi disagrees with you, if you actually listened to the commentary. Is that Al Bernstein who agrees with him?

Did he? Yeah it was an impressive display of power how he dropped Wladimir, Pianeta, Seferi.. I bet Wilder is peeing himself with fear.

    So, wait?

Dillian Whyte who's viewed as some kind of KO artist went the 10 round distance with Allen. Now remember, he did drop Parker hard for the first time and had AJ out on his feet.

But Ortiz, who evidently is a featherfist according to Dave, bludgeoned Allen thoroughly and stopped him in 7.

Yet we're supposed to believe a guy who couldn't KO Pianeta, yet the walking dead corpse of Kevin Johnson did, hits harder than a guy that did a more brutal number on Dave than Whyte, who KO'd Browne cold, that Chagaev, who violently KO1 Pianeta, couldn't accomplish, hits harder than both...

Yeah, sorry Dave, we literally have visual evidence you're lying to push an agenda.

Youre wrong in thinking Fury cannot punch. its a grave mistake to make, i hope wilder thinks so.
