Said it since day one: Fury will be up on the cards when the fight ends. I think he'll gas a bit, get caught, and the ref will legitimately stop the fight somewhere around the 9th, but if he hears the final bell, he'll win.

And, of course, if that happens, the anti American bias on this board will lead to meltdowns in thread after thread, completely ignoring why the term "British stoppage" is so accurate.

Same goes for Fury although I wouldn’t exactly call it a fight that he had with Klitschko

Thinking about this fight makes me realize that Tyson Fury is the only fighter that I'm a fan of. I'm visualizing Fury face down on the canvas and I'm sad :(

    Officials for Wilder-Fury:

Judges will be England’s Phil Edwards, the United States’ Alejandro Rochin and Canada’s Robert Tapper.

American Jack Reiss will be the referee.

    Here's my worthless analysis:

The logical argument for this fight is the following: Fury outboxed the great Klitschko, therefore he should easily outbox Wilder. As skilled of a boxer Fury is, I think there is some nuance to the comparison. Klitshko is much more robotic compared to Wilder, he requires his opponent to be in a certain space in order for him to operate effectively (his offence usually based on planting his feet and leading with the jab). Fury was able to completely neutralize and confuse him with lateral movement, feints, and throwing punches from multiple angles. Wlad barely threw a punch in some rounds.
Wilder's key asset here (which Wlad lacked) is his ability to close the distance quick. He can be half way across the ring for a second, then suddenly be in your face throwing bombs from awkward angles in the next. As crude and amateurish as Wilder is, his awkwardness can be confusing as well, and Fury will have a harder time throwing him off than he did with Wlad.
Ultimately, I'd love to see Fury win, and I'd like to think that the good boxer always beats a good puncher. Fury is much more polished and has many more dimensions to his game. However, I'm going with Wilder based on the points above, and based on his form: he's in his physical prime and has been much more active. Last time Fury looked good was 3 years ago, and he's only had 2 fights since (not to mention the abuse he put his body through), although I have to say he's looking much better in training camp this time around, lost a lot of weight. Prediction: Wilder gets thorouhly outboxed for most rounds, but eventually lands on Fury and gets him out of there. Wilder TKO10.

    Having said that, War Fury!

Really don't see how Wilder isn't a common sense pick to win this by stoppage, at this relative point in their careers especially. The bookies seem to have it figured out and sorted appropriately even if most fans are still in the dark.

Not a good style match up either for the obviously diminished from his "prime" years Fury. Whatever level he may have been at 3 plus years ago, he clearly isn't operating on the same level he once was.

He couldn't duplicate what a 40 year old, truly years past relevancy Kevin Johnson did in his last bout. Not a good look for a supposed world class fighter.

You really think Wilder can outbox Fury to a points decision?

What is there for me to even take back, there?

Fury could blitz Wilder and win via KO1, it still wouldn't alter one thing I said in my post.

    I didn't even make a definitive prediction.
