Both fight on the Wilder vs. Fury under card and I plan on getting to the venue early enough to catch both men. I get my money's worth, ha ha, and really like watching guys on the rise.

Joyce, to me, seems to be the more legitimate prospect. Big, powerful, fairly raw but with an Olympic background and need to move up the ladder quickly. I've seen a couple of highlights but not much. What is his calling card? What is in need of improvement for him to move up? What do you see as his ceiling?

    Same questions for Lowe, too.

I appreciate the input. The last year has been insanely hectic for me and I'm just now getting back into going to cards and catching more than premier bouts.

Joyce lacks personality to the point I feel sorry for him, he has made more money as a sparring partner than in professional bouts, loses his head and strategy as soon as he gets tagged.
Decent size, decent fundamentals, needs a title badly, being promoted by Haye will get him nowhere.
There’s a few ifl videos where they go begging chisora for a fight, they even mob him ringside but end up looking like pure planks.

    He isn’t with Haye anymore.

    He is with Haymon.

Hanks has some pop and a decent reach. I'm actually more compelled by this fight than the Ortiz/Kaufmann bout which I know will be a one sided beating.

Joyce lacks explosiveness. Looks like he’s fighting in slow motion at times.

Prospects aren't ranked in the top 10. Joyce can defeat guys like Miller, Whyte , and possibly Ortiz ( we'll see who looks like what on the night ) anyone who thinks otherwise isn't paying attention.

Joyce brings what all real fans like and that's knock out highlights waiting to happen. ( If you actual listen to his interviews he gives subtle hints like his latest one about Fury , Joshua, and Wilder but you guys are way to full of personality for that stuff? LoL ,)

Anyone who took the time to see the percentage of former champions who won a medal in the Olympics that became HW champions would understand his ceiling which includes a 6'6 giant with great work rate and power and he was robbed of the gold.

Joyce is good, I like his nonstop pressure style but can see that making fighters avoid him because it’s a hard nights work for anyone. I think he could possibly beat whyte right now.

Lowe on the other hand took this fight against a bum stateside instead of doing what he should have done and fought the rematch with Walsh for the British title. He works in the building trade by day so is not a full time boxer and has struggled with sponsors and promoters in the past, if Fury wins and Lowe sticks with him he’ll be ok and have plenty more good fights.

Joyce's trademark is his relentless work rate and pressure. He has a good jab, decent but not exceptional power. But he lacks explosiveness he basically fights at the same pace, though that pace is more than most heavies could keep up with for very long without gassing.

As for how far he'll go, I don't think he can beat the very top guys but I think he could be a decent contender. He hammered Kiladze who gave Kownacki problems early on. He should of gotten gold in Rio vs Yoka and he hammered Hrgovic in the WSB.

Usyk already schooled Joyce, no need to school him again.

He’s the only talented heavyweight I can think of who gets a dig and looks shook, he’s definatly skilled and has serious power, he’s just to scared to unleash it.
    Ambition/heart/drive are his weakness imo

Thanks for all the info. I didn't know Lowe was a guy with a day job. His was the first name added to boxrec for the under card, apparently a favor for Fury's promoter.

Looks like Joyce is in a fight he should win but will need to put in some work to do so. Lots of HW fights on the card, which can lead to a dull evening. Sounds like his won't be.
