but u have to ask is he better then hamed? i say NO as he just isn't as good as hamed was especially doesn't have 1 punch KO power hamed had -and i am not conviced he has a god chin either
I find it laughable how Khan thinks he's a big name globally, even as a Brit who is surrounded in the Khan hype pretty much 24/7 I know this isn't the case.
Khan isn't fighting better opposition consistently at all. After beating Earl and later St. Clair, then was the time to get Thaxton in there and then Romanov, and then perhaps a shot at the weakest champ, whoever that may have been at the right time. Instead we have been given Kristjansen and Gomez - yet we still hear the nonsense about Amir being above Euro level.
Khan's chin is shaky and his management knows it, so they are doing what they need to do to protect their investment before he fights a live body and is knocked out cold like Fraudley.
I belive this is the last fight on his contract with warren, hopefully he will get a good trainer move stateside and sign with goldenboy.
Khan claimed that he could beat PBF over 3 rounds after his 3rd fight.... the source of this bollocks can be seen on the press page of his official website!!! go have a laugh....I sure as **** did!!! As far as I am concearned Limmond had im down for the 10 count so anyone who is not paid to loose should put his dick in the dirt!
whats he done to say that he is a great prospect. he never won the gold in the olympcs. he got fuked in the final by the only world class fighter he has fought so far he was luky to come through the only decent test as a pro against limmond don't get me wrong i think khan is good and can be a world champ but he is no super talent like a de la hoya, leonard, pbf. frank warren is right in bringing him along slowly.
The count against Limond was a long one, when he took a knee at 6 the referee didn't know quite what to do, other than look at Frank Warren for a split second and say 6.1, 6.2, etc etc etc There should have been a rematch really, but there you go.......
Everyone (but one, credit where it's due) is writing as if they were serious about a Pacquiao fight! Khan is just bulding himself up, trying to get that worldwide traction for his name. He won't fight the Pacman anytime soon. He isn't ready and Warren knows it. I'd expect him to have a world title fight though this year or next, for a WBO title at least, as Warren seems to be able to get his fighters shots at the WBO like ordering a takeaway.
Khan likes to call people out. He needs to concentrate on fighting better opposition so he can earn the right to call out the top fighters. I think he sees Manny as easy prey as he has just come up to the weight.
hamed was much better than khan. much more dominant against opponents. better punch. better skills. better chin. not even convinced khan would beat someone like yuri romanov.
Khan is agreat fighter, but I'm starting to agree with you. It's time for him to step up in class, at least fight a B level fighter instead of Michael Gomez. What's worse about this fight is that Gomez is shot to peices, and he wasn't even any good in his prime. If Amir Khan steps in the ring with Manny Pacquiao, Joan Guzman, or anybody like anytime soon he will get stopped inside 8 rounds.
khans contract with warren and sports network is up after the gomez fight and hasnt signed anything yet. so we shall see if he ditches his trainer and promotional team in favour of an american promoter and trainer. Hayemaker promotions and GBP have a partnership now! GBP is the monster promoter in boxing now.
if he was a great talent they would of matched him with Jon thaxton a long time ago. they should be matching him the elite domestically and continentally
