Is there any trainer who can improve Wilder's boxing skills?

Imagine Wilder with a little extra arsenal like a jab or a left hook. A guy with his built and physical talents shouldn't be this crude of a boxer. Is there any trainer that could help improve Wilder's technique at this point?

 

Are fans in here trying to claim they see no improvement in Wilder fight after fight?
His balance and jab above were 2 drastically improved attributes that are starting to become huge positives.

The Wilder hates are blinded by hate no matter what the facts are. His distractors will never ever admit he has any talent and or skill outside of power.

DW has proven time and time again his way works great for him, not for others but for him who is the only fighter that matters to him

 

Wilder should stick to his trainer (whoever it is now) till the end of his boxing career.

 

Manny Steward would have worked wonders with him if he was still alive IMO. He turned Lummox Lewis in to the best HW in the world after all.

 

I think at age 33 it’s to late for Wilder. If he cannot learn from Mark Breland then he will not learn from anyone else. His goose is cooked this way and he cannot change.

 

At his age it's unlikely. He's had too many years of bad habits and too many wasted years of fighting poor opposition that didn't test him to make him improve. Had he had the type of quality training needed earlier in his career he might of turned out a better fighter but I think it might be too late now.

 

And what makes you think Breland is doing all the right things to make those adjustments?

 

I think it’s his footwork that he needs to work on. Let him rely on that one punch if he so wishes, arming him with means to deliver it would make him far more efficient and he’d somewhat resemble an actual boxer.

To answer your question, there are many trainers out there who could improve him but the number of those that would even attempt to do so is pretty slim. Not that he’ll ever choose to ditch his current team anyway.

 

Started boxing late(ish) in the first place and seems all eggs were put into one basket from the begging- power. He does have freakish power, take that away and he’s a C+/B level fighter at best. He’s gotten away with it his whole career fighting bums and well over the hill old men. His boxing abilities were exposed by Fury.

That power was even a half second away from getting him a win over fury. He can be improved but at this stage of his career he’ll never be an elite boxer. Get some fundamentals right to compliment that power and he can go up a level but not improve drastically

To be honest, I'm not sure Wilder has the discipline to keep up any kind of change. At 40-0-1, especially given that he's knocked out every fighter he's faced (sans Fury), if he tried to develop a new style, he'd likely revert to his old ways as soon as he started facing any kind of adversity that he thinks he could overcome with the old Wilder.

Before the fight, he even said in an interview that he knows he has to make changes, and he knows what he needs to do, but his desire to end the fight quickly turns him back to his old ways of throwing the hard right and looking for KO's.

 

Bingo those bad habits are set. He cannot improve at this stage. Plus remember Jay Deas is a manager, so he is still taking his cut off top so it only means more money going out of his pocket as well.
