Kubrat Pulev (26-1, 13 KO) on Friday will sign a supervisor contract with the Top Rank group. The Bulgarian is currently the official contender for the title of world heavyweight IBF champion and next year he will fight against Anthony Joshua.

37-year-old Pulew last boxed in October, winning points with Hughie Fury. For BuĊ‚gar it was a return to the ring after a year and a half break. For now, it is not known when the new acquisition of Bob Arum will once again show up between the ropes.

Pulev and Joshua had to fight in the autumn of last year, but then Bulgarian eliminated the injury from the competition

Good look for Pulev. Fights with US based heavyweights coming up.

With Ruiz Jr looking to terminate contract with TOP RANK, Pulev is good addition.

Great. Yet another overhyped to begin with and now old contender to watch Joshua KO and get very little credit for post fight.

And this time the credit goes to the IBF.

I know Pulev will wait for AJ but I'd like to see him fight the Jennings/Rivas winner.

I think Top Rank may go another route. They will earn more by matching both with different opponents.

When he actually learns some boxing skills that would be more interesting news.

So will we see him fight more than once a year with Top Rank?

    Good question.

Top Rank usually keep their East European boxers inactive for long periods, or have them face meaningless opposition for low pay, effectively ruining their careers (Mekhontsev, Korobov, Ponomarev , etc).

But Pulev is near the end of his career anyway, so it doesn't much matter.

Top Rank has couple of good heavies right now. Jennings, Rivas, Pulev, - Ruiz should SFSU could get some good exposure

Pulev needs to revenge his loss of Rivas from the Olympics. He wants his next bout to be in Chicago in front of the bulgarian population there.
