the 12th round knockdown was actually brilliantly set up by wilder

you cant be useless technically the way he set it up

the counter left hand that set up the one two seconds later, after fury got off balance throwing a tired jab was brilliantly and brutally done with timing and speed.

it defies logic in how awful wilder threw so many other punches in the fight.

But to say he cant box is rubbish, you do not win a an olympic medal if you cant box, he is just a technically lazy fighter for me, maybe that would have improved with more help for his long term trainer I dont know, be it sum ways he is a perplexing fighter to watch.

Then again you could say the same in a different way with fury how can a man who moves so well and can box that well never sit down properly on his punches, at 18 stone 5 he should be hurting wilder more.

You can win Olympic gold and be an awful boxer like Audley Harrison, who was far less skilled than Wilder is. Wilder attacks too much in a straight which Fury exploited, but Fury was escaping in a straight line also, Wilder`s wide right hands were missing all night but as rounds when on he started to straight his rear power shots and was starting to get closer, so you are making a bit of sense, there`s a brilliant study by the youtuber TheWeasle on this fights and he credits what you`re saying here.

That right hand Wilder threw was the epitome of a hail mary. He was literally off his feet as he jumped towards Fury when he threw it. The left hook was a far better shot imo

Harrison was a good boxer, especially in the amateurs. He just had no chin and froze in the ring.

Thought Wilder was missing his punches like drunken b@stard. Fury's bobbing was the key.
Wilder's punches was so WILD and only landing on Fury's farts until a lucky punch somehow landed a bit.
Just my humblest opinion, don't nobody get upset :eatingburger

His power got exposed as is often the case when you face an elite fighter.

Yes then got up like nothing happened. He wasn’t hurt at all. Joshua was the same as soon as he faced someone who wasn’t terrified at the mere sight of him his KO streak ends. Same as Golovkin etc etc

You had to mention Golovkin? The fighter that is 10 times superior to Wilder, Joshua and Fury?

This. Wilder clearly can box when he wants to, but he is very lazy when it comes to technique and footwork and has admitted so himself. Russ Anber compared Wilder to Lemieux in that both guys are very stubborn and hard to coach, since they both have too much confidence in their power. Anber also said Wilder is lazy with his diet as well, which is why his weight has been so inconsistent lately. Wilder was forced to be more patient in the 12th round and setup his combination against Fury, since just wildly swinging wasn’t working.

I seen first hand how stubborn and lazy Wilder can be about 6-7 years ago when Wilder was at my friend’s gym and he was sparring Medzhid Bektemirov, who was making Wilder look extremely bad. My friend Sergio Nunez, who was a fighter at the time told Wilder to be patient and setup the power shot and not to force it. Needless to say Wilder didn’t listen and said in a real match his right hand would land eventually.

I think Wilder is better technically than he is given credit for, but he doesn't show it consistently enough. Vs Ortiz and vs Fury there were times where he just had no answers for what his opponent was doing. He took large portions of some of those rounds off, but at the same time, he showed a good amount of patience to not get frustrated even when giving away rounds.

The 12th round knockdown was set up nicely by Deontay. It took him most of the fight to adjust to Fury's style. There's no shame in that as it took the entire fight for Wlad to adjust to Fury's style.
