So what are some historic boxing robberies from back in the day? The older the better.

There was nearly a historic robbert when M.Tyson met Douglas because at the time of the KO Mike was ahead on two scorecards!

Whitaker vs Ramirez # 1 is the 1st to pop in my mind.

    Walcott vs Louis 1
    GGG vs Canelo (either)
    Leonard vs Hearns 2
    Ali vs Norton 3
    Holyfield vs Lewis 1

^These are usually agreed to be bad decisions, to some extent

    Mayweather vs De La Hoya
    Hagler vs Leonard
    Ali vs Norton 2
    Valuev vs Holyfield

^These are a little more controversial

Tiberi - Toney was terrible. You kind of expect to see Al Capone and Bonnie & Clyde as the judges

    Or Adelaide Byrd.

What about Ali-Jimmy Young? I remember thinking Young won but Ali was nearly invincible in those days.....in the eyes of many (not me).

TBH though, if you can't see the whole fight in reasonable quality you can't really judge it yourself, so you have to just go on what people said at the time.

Loads of early ones with controversy, like Hart-Johnson and Gunboat Smith-Jess Willard off the top of my head.

    Cassius Clay/Sonny Liston 1

It was close but clear. Sonny should have had his hand raised.

I felt the Jimmy Young threw that one away by sticking his head out of the ropes to “avoid pressure”. I believe Jimmy Young was robbed against Ken Norton.

Young had quite a few close ones go against him.I think he just didn't have the mentality of a champion, that he wasn't prepared to go that extra mile and secure victory. He gets no sympathy from me.

yes that one shocked nearly everyone, I haven't seen it since. I don't usually watch fights over and over again...

Boxing History could be rewritten because of Top Level corruption, protection, fixing & insuring some fighters.

Sad really a Sport (BUSINESS), that doesn't have to play by Regulated Rules in far, far too many cases.

I am a Jimmy Young fan and never like to see the fighter getting jobbed. On the other hand, I disagree with many and feel pretty he received a pretty fair shake against Muhammad Ali.

The Norton loss was unfortunate and apparently broke his spirit. It is one of those wonder “what ifs”. The story is that he tried cocaine following the fight and was then hooked. Who knows maybe it was inevitable? I think Norton had been in the role of the victim against Ali so it is strange seeing the role reversal.

He may just have been too cute for the judges taste , which is technically known as “Emmanuel Augustusitis”
