:lol::lol:. I doubt even Ortiz himself would reach for that straw.

You know looking back at Wilders last two fights ...as bummish as his ability is I have to say that he has fought two good fighters & TBH he did raise his game...

Look tbf he has finally stepped it up. He's struggling like a fish out of water - but he beat Ortiz and he nearly beat a surprisingly good version of Fury - considering Fury's long layoff. What I don't understand is why he doesn't get a coach that can teach him some basics. It really wouldn't take much with his raw dimensions and physicality, to become something imposing.

Ortiz is the most overrated heavyweight in recent memory in my opinion, Dave Allen ate punch after punch and was stopped on his feet.

FFS, Malik Scott wasn't lights out.

Ortiz is still living off that Jennings KO. It's about time that was forgotten, every move on and people look at him now and what he has done recently.

His defense is bad but what's truly bad is his punching technique. He can throw good punches, especially the straight right, but he doesn't have the discipline to do it consistently. He's just not wired like that, maybe because he started late. This is why he would lose to every past great, they are not letting him throw those punches and not knock him out.

    Yeah,

I'm not saying Ortiz us awful or anything like that but he is nowhere near what some people believe, if he was he would have ended Wilder when he had him seriously hurt, destroyed punchbag Dave Allen in a couple of round and murdered Malik Scott.

He looks like a dangerous, solid and competent guy to me. But, he's as old as the hills and has a big lack of top level opposition. And its that sort of opposition that is a guage of how good he actually is.

Ortiz got busted for hardcore steroids a few times in his career but Jennings KO shows just how downhill Wlad was by the time Fury got to him. prime Wlad would have taken out Jennings in few rounds yet it was Jennings who won a few rounds off Wlad and took him to 'deep waters' before Fury.

Both Ortiz and Jennings are over rated and haven't accomplished anything in their careers.

    I agree, great points.

And as you say, Ortiz is a steroid cheat, that seems to be ignored by his "fans"..

Fury has also tested positive for a banned substance and that also gets ignored.

Wilder's defensive skills are average. Just about everything about Wilder is average EXCEPT for his power. His power is the great equalizer.

Yes he missed looping right after looping right v Fury before late in the fight he realised Fury was moving back in a straight line and could be caught with a straight right.
