Fury`s corner were so much better than Wider`s during their clash, will Wilder need a new team for their rematch? This content is protected
I was impressed with Davison. He seems to be what Tyson needs. Good motivator and understands him well.
I dont think anyone will want to take on wilder. I mean technically he is terrible and he has never improved If he wins he will be like 10 rounds down on the cards and land a hail mary. From a trainers perspective you will get no credit if he wins and flack if he loses. Also i think his corner try to just keep him calm between rounds, saying its not going to badly. I mean he is already swinging for the fences, if they panic him he may go completely man. They are probably doing a good job
Yeah, it's impossible to give Wilder instructions as he's too dim and useless to heed them. If Davidson was training Wilder I doubt he'd be telling him anything specific like he's telling Tyson here, but just generic motivational stuff to keep Wilder relatively composed and confident.
Davison deserves a lot of credit for how he managed to control and keep motivated a free spirit like Tyson Fury
I just saw a vid flash up on youtube stating that Wilder`s trainer stormed out of his corner during his inept display v Fury.
He knows his boxing too, telling Fury to feint and judge distance was crucial against a puncher like Wilder, because it becomes a game of fractions, one mistake and we saw what happened in the 12th.
Yes, that's about the most you can expect from Wilder. Even simple commands like asking him to double up the jab, or change his level of attack would just be met with a blank stare.
Uncle Meth's instructions for this same fight: Meth: 'Wilder is a journeyman, Tyson, nothing to worry about. Get after it.' Tyson: 'But what about the right hand, Uncle Meth?' Meth: 'Just put your left glove up.' (round 12) Meth: 'You're way ahead, Tyson, now stop playing with him and go for the KO.'
