i brought this up a few months ago. our opinions of someone being over rated are meaningless? what the hell does it even mean really? that we think to highly of somone? or... what? and the bigger questions is why does what we think matter in regards to somone being over rated? the facts are the facts. over rated is stupid and meaningless.

Then what's the point of having a message board? It's not only to get facts about boxing but to discuss boxing which involves personal opinions.

Yes, i think Calzaghe is overrated. :good

Yes, i think J. Taylor is underrated. :good

And i have my reasons to why i think this way.

Fine. Do away with the term "over-rated". Then swallow any bull**** that any nuthugger wants to spew forth, and call it bible truth. Good idea.

    Cheers

    Excellent!

It is used to much against proven fighters such as Hatton, Calzaghe and even in some quarters Cotto:-(

The term itself, like "exposed," "china-chinned" and others is certainly overused, but there are times when it's applicable.

It should be banned except for when we are talking about Taylor, who has now been proven as fraudulent and people are realising, but now Pavlik who gets overrated on the back of beating said fraud

There are some ridiculous calls though, of people that aren't even rated or talked about getting this tag

    This is hilarious.

So in other words, it's your SUBJECTIVE opinion on who should be labeled this? Great, you just did what everyone else on a message board does and that's given an opinion.

Yes, mine and other sensible posters who know these two are vastly overrated

Especially Pavlik. We are starting to get Taylor's smoke and mirrors career into perspective, I just don't think we've quite clicked on to the fact Pavlik's reputation is almost exclusively built on beating this guy

It will come though. That's the beauty of boxing.

Well, there would be no more Roy Jones Jr threads if we did.

I know. I can't wait till Taylor starts taking out SMW's in due time.

Taylor taking out a SMW :rofl

That's the funniest joke I heard all year. He could have started his vicious killing spree against those deadly junior middles he faced.

I see where you're coming from. You focus exclusively on his fights with Spinks and Ouma. And that's fine. I tend to focus more on his fights against Hopkins, Wright, and Pavlik.

Like i said, time will tell.
