no he retired and thus giving up his lineal status but the man who comes out on top starts a new lineal line
I would swap your first two. I think Hearn will tempt Wilder. Team Wilder must know he loses his next fight, so he may aswell chase the money.
Yes I still consider his right to claim the title of lineal champion legitimate as he did beat the man who beat the man and has now made a comeback. If however he hadn't made a comeback within 5 years, which is a reasonably lengthy period of time in the career of a professional boxer, then my personal opinion is that the title of lineal champion should then be automatically passed down to the next boxer who unifies (or has unified and currently possesses) at least 3 out of the 4 widely recognised belts.
Fury's lineage goes back as far as W. Klitschko. Klitschko's status came out of thin air but is the best measure today as Fury was the man that beat hhim.Technically this is still the lineal champion This content is protected
He is still the man that beat the man but he did "retire" and was out of the ring for a long time.. Plus there hasn't been another fight where a new lineage has started.. The only other to have that claim would be AJ given he has fought Wlad, Parker and Povetkin who all have claims to being the man after Fury retired.. Not that it really matters but Fury deserves to claim to be the lineal champ..
Lineal shmineal. I don't give a **** about that. However, I do know, and so does 90% of the boxing world (except for that fat sack of walrus blubber Dan Rafael and some of the human garbage over at the LDBC) that he SHOULD be the WBC champion and that Britain is the epicentre of HW boxing and all four belts rightfully belong to Brits.
