I love Morales, an absolute warrior and underrated technician. However, have you seen his fight with Raheem? Raheem's footwork absolutely befuddled Morales and let's be honest, Raheem is no Lomachenko. Loma would win a wide decision IMO.
who actually hates him thinking he's beatable is one thing hate is another and if you hate him your not a fan of boxing
At the right weight,,I would favor Loma, and I love Morales! El Terrible would have to land and hurt him, which I think he could! But I'd make Loma a 3-2 favorite which is basically a toss up.
Morales had a granite chin, and I mean granite. I think Loma boxes with him but if you can't hurt a guy you can be in trouble, particularly with El Terribles power. Obviously he is better than Pedraza, although Pedraza is very good. The difference is Morales would go in to win, Pedraza went in not to lose. There's only so much accumulated punishment anyone can take and Morales would take a lot to get to Loma. Very interesting match-up.
Morales was smaller than Raheem and clearly worn out from the wars. Morales at 126 or 130 runs through Lomas power.
Definitely. I like Loma. A lot. Plunked down cash to see him live twice. Morales would have a hard time landing on Loma, which is why I said "could pull of the W." Neither man dominates the other. Great fight.
Not so much if he doesnt respect Lomas power which he wont. Morales as a sharpshooter is about as accurate as humanly possible for a boxer and hes long and powerful. Styles match up favors EM.
Loma is hard to hit flush when he's on his game. I was at his fights with Russell and Marriaga and dude's lateral movement is incredible. I think Morales could land on him at range, but he's going to miss quite a few shots as well. I'd bet on Morales, but it is no slam dunk.
Morales wasn't smaller than Raheem. He also fought Maidana closer than Raheem and Maidana was definitely bigger (and this was after Raheem). The size argument is flawed, now maybe Morales was faded by the time he faced Raheem but he still had something left in the tank (evidenced by running Maidana close). Raheem was just a bad style match-up and I think any version of Loma is a bad style match-up for Morales.
Since Morales had a Zahir Raheem, MAB had a Junior Jones, Clay had a Cooper, then Loma is no different. Sometimes and under rated or under the radar fighter just aint buying the hype. Doesn't make Loma any less impressive. Loma (still) is one of the best out there.
