According to that Benson guy on twitter, I think Khan gets a lot of unnecessary stick considering how exciting a fighter he is. Can come across badly sometimes tbf I am probably in the minority , but I would like to see Khan beat Brook, Khan genuinely wants to fight the best fighters out there. Brook only wants to fight Khan.
If Khan takes the Brook fight now he come across as more of a **** than ever. I really despise this fight now and sums up alot of wrong with boxing.
I said this in one of the other threads but if Hearn can somehow make this fight, 100% we will see a rematch and possibly a trilogy. Hearn is a master of milking fights, in rematches, look at what he did with Bellew-Cleverly II, Bellew-Haye II, Whyte-Chisora II and probably Whyte-Joshua II. We’ll end up getting a trilogy of Pay-Per-Puddings that will be lapped up by the football market and this is why I don’t care for the fight. If they had a one-off fight to settle everything on normal Sky, I’d be all over it as a boxing fan.
Exactly. Khan gets grief for chasing the Mayweather fight. If Berto, Ortiz and Maidana can all get Mayweather fights then I don't see why Khan couldn't. In addition Maidana, Alexander, Collazo, Garcia, Judah (albeit old), Malignaggi are decent names. Brook has wasted years of his career for me.
Khan wants the big money fights, at welterweight there is a plethora of well known names and big money fights. At the moment Khans name is still big and his stock is high, so he still has pull in that respect. He knows that the Brook fight will always be there, but if he fights Brook and loses badly, his name diminishes and his stock greatly reduces. I don't believe Khan fears Brook, but I do believe he doesn't fancy himself against him. In Khans case I believe he feels why have one big fight/payday against Brook, when i can have 4/5 big fights and fight Brook at the end of it. Its purely business.
I actually feel khan is ready to sign and it's brook holding off despite what he keeps saying I'm the media Sounds like he's doing a hearn
Whilst I agree Brook wants it more, it may now be coming with plenty of considerations that he doesn't want. The weight, a weight gain clause, a recent pretty terrible performance from Brook; essentially, Brook is giving everything away and his standing in the sport has possibly never been much lower since he won the world title.
And what ridiculous demand is khan going to come up with for brook next, beat Usyk then we can get it on!!
This is the sporting equivalent of Brexit. At first I really cared and was interested, then you realise there will be no updates in the immediate future so your interest begins to slowly diminish. Then just as you think there is progress being made there are further barricades to prevent a final agreement being signed. Like Brexit, I have lost the ****ing will to live with this absolute debacle and will only regain interest once it is signed and agreed.
I'll on switch on to them fighting once they are in the ring with buffer reading the records out. Should have been done years ago this. Kell is the most managed fighter on his generation. Could and should have been in against Vargas, Garcia, Porter again, Thurman. Instead we have Frankie Gavin and number of never weres. Khan has been in with better names had the better career but is trying to have it all his own way before he fights Kell, its tedious
They both have poor resumes. Brook has the best win against Porter .Khan only has one top win against Maidana, but he only fought him cause he was his mandatory who he tried to avoid and got pummeled round the ring barely surviving to barely win. If you consider their losses - Khan has lost to poor/mediocre fighters in Prescott (in 50 seconds) and Peterson, Brook has only lost to two elite fighters. I feel Brook has had the better career.
