Why wouldn't he? He has a fighter in the main event.

The point still stands though that this is a Golden Boy show and if Oscar hasn't promoted it as well as he should that's on him.

More importantly its Canelo vs Rocky Fielding!!

Firstly, I believe mine was a better and more accurate "try" than your illegal stream estimate, which was not a nice try, complete estimates regarding illegal streams mean nothing.

Anyway, that happens all the time, AJ fights get a huge amount of traffic with illegal streams, I don't see AJ fans on here adding those in to the conversation.

Also, What happened to the 1 million plus estimates? What happened to Wilders 2 million plus estimate? Wilder fans seem to have forgotten these claims, they want to skip over those predictions.

And finally, I don't stream fights I live in the Uk, I subscribe to BT, Sky Sports and other channels and if I can buy I certainly wouldn't stream.. I even admit I have bought Bellew Vs Cleverly II and Haye Vs Harrison.. I wish I did stream those fights.

Also, I didn't watch the Fury fight live, that's how poor I believed the event was, I wasn't really that interested in the fight itself and many others agreed with me, you only have to look at the PPV numbers.

The fact that anyone is trying to claim illegal stream numbers as some kind of victory is pure desperation. 100 mil could illegally stream a fight and it would mean fcuk all. Buys are what matters not how many people refuse to pay.

There seems to be "tons of tickets remaining " for most of the big fights these days :eyebrow2:

According to Keith Idec 5,000 tickets remain.

This will be the smallest audience to watch Canelo fight in a LONG time.

325,000 people bought the fight at $75 on cable in the U.S. This doesn't include PPV in the UK. It doesn't include LEGAL Sateliite (DirecTV and DiSH) PPV or PPV streams (like the Showtime app) in the U.S. and UK. It doesn't include the gate.

10 million people illegally streamed it.

By all accounts, it was widely viewed and very successful. So much so they're doing it again.

You were so uninterested in the fight, you were on here for weeks talking about it and still are, two weeks later.

Canelo is fighting in two days, and I had to start a thread to get people talking about Alvarez-Fielding, and that's turned into a Wilder-Fury thread, too, by YOU, who claims you didn't care about it. (HILARIOUS)

    Nice try.

Rocky Fielding in not being big US ticket seller shocker!

That said I thought Canelo was a big enough deal to sell out MSG fighting his shadow so that tells you how little interest there is in this fight and still comes as a bit of a surprise.

Of course 10 million illegal streams is important. It shows the interest is there, even if the pricing was out of whack.

Consider DAZN offered Joshua-Povetkin to the U.S. audience FOR FREE, as part of a FREE MONTH/Free APP download. (And you can cancel at any time. They could download the app, watch for 30 days for free and delete it.)

And DAZN only generated 15,000 downloads that month.

They waited to launch DAZN in the U.S. with Anthony Joshua's fight and only 15,000 people took them up on the free offer.

That's why they overpaid Canelo Alvarez. Because they need some boxer in the U.S. that can generate subscribers. And Joshua crashed and burned.

Joshua isn't even featured on the new DAZN commercials in the U.S. like he used to be. It's Michael Buffer and Canelo.

10 million people watched Wilder-Fury for FREE using illegal streams. 15,000 in the U.S. watched Joshua-Povetkin on LEGAL FREE app.

What does it say if only 15,000 homes want to watch something that they are giving away LEGALLY FOR FREE?

It says Canelo-Fielding this weekend better result in a LOT MORE DAZN app downloads.

Because if Joshua AND Canelo can't get U.S. fans to download the app, they'd better find a TELEVISION network to fight on quick!

Like Showtime PPV, for instance. (LOL)

Liam Smith wasn't either. More than 40,000 tickets were sold to that one and it was on HBO PPV.

Says a lot about where Canelo's at now then doesn't it? I guess fans saw through those BS decisions against Golovkin and are passing judgment with their wallets.

If Canelo-Fielding doesn't result in DAZN app downloads, Hearn better pray Canelo loses to someone so maybe he can get out of his contract.

I'm sure he'll put Alejandro Rochin on standby. Seriously though... You do realise Hearn is a promoter who does a job for DAZN not the owner of DAZN right?

You can’t blame Oscar for this fiasco. This is clearly a Hearns **** up. Hearns must have put up all the money for this one. No doubt Golden Boy negotiated a very sweet deal on this one from Hearns, even if it tanks, so it will be Hearns who loses money, not Golden Boy.

Oscar would never have booked Canelo for the Garden against a complete nobody. There is no Mexican middle class in the NY metropolitan area, so no Canelo fan base to show up. If Canelo was fighting Danny Jacobs, or a Puerto Rican, or at least Chris Algieri, they could have filled the Garden with non-Mexicans. Oscar knows all of this. We’ll see how long Hearns’ investors put up with him losing all their money.
