My view on Mikey vs Loma has changed.

No not now, he's always been underrated for some reason. Even before Tank nuked him. People just don't seem to care about him all that much.

Back in 2015 after Loma just beat GRJ, people were discussing potential opponents and I remember thinking and posting, Pedraza will be a problem at some point. So you're calling out the wrong guy if you think I'm trying to push some kind of narrative here.

Why is Loma not on that level? Because he can't make it to 147?
He already transcended the weight classes. He is a midget in 135. Loma is a tall guy for his attributes as well. He has narrow shoulder width, short arms. In general, he is a small guy. Just because they're the same height as PAC doesn't mean their relative fighting weight is same. PAC has the natural 5-10bs advantage on Loma and that's why he can fight in welterweight.
Loma is on a skill level where he is comparable to PAC and MAY. If you'd ask me I'd say both Mayweather and Pacquiao are better in the grand scheme of things. But Loma still has a career ahead of him.

 

To be honest im a big loma fan but i don't want to be too biased about him. I can see how he's a special talent but i still feel like tank and mikey cause him alot of problems. Although i think loma is more skillful than tank and mikey, i just dont think hes strong enough to hurt either of the two. I also don't think he will be able to avoid their power shots all 12 rounds

 

Is rating him on one fight wiser than the last dozen altogether?

 

I thought Incellerbe always felt Garcia would beat Loma so his opinion did not really change. I would like to send Egis over to Incellerbe's for some personal time in the form of a "Come to Loma" meeting.

 

Opinions are fine but this fight is never happening. Garcia will drop a decision to Spence then retire and enter the Sheriff's academy. He is not going up to 147 just so he can drop all the way back down to 135. Team Loma has all but released next year schedule:

Winner of Commey/Russian-3rd belt unification, each guy has already signed a contract to face Loma next if they win.

Berchelt is moving up and they want him late Summer.

Possibly mandatory Crolla somewhere during the year


Only diveersion is Mikey retiring and vacating his LW belt leaving it vacant.

 

Pac transcended weight divisions because of PED's. Watch his first fight against Morales and then their rematch. Totally different physical specimen. Floyd was also naturally much bigger and almost assuredly a PED abuser too. And Mayweather pretty much avoided all top fighters in his weight class that had a noticeably longer reach than he did.
