TONS of tickets remaining for Canelo-Fielding ... will they turn on the lights?

You make a fair point... lol

But Hearn did put himself front dead centre of the DAZN launch and talked about how HE had a $1bn budget, so when things don't go brilliantly then the heat is going to be turned on him. Also I doubt Canelo or Oscar said 'get us Rocky Fielding or we're not signing to DAZN'.

That said, I think it's only fair to see how he/they/whoever is really in charge, deliver in 2019...

Yes. But Hearn has a budget, and if he's paying one guy $36 million a fight, THAT guy needs to bring in subscribers. Or he'll be paying one guy $72 million or $108 million A YEAR.

That's why the Joshua-Povetkin disaster was so huge.

And brings me back to the point I made about illegal streams for Wilder-Fury.

If Wilder-Fury had been on DAZN, and those 10 million people who had illegally streamed it had instead downloaded the free DAZN app and watched it on there, DAZN would've had an extra 10 million subscribers that month.

Even if only 1 in 10 decided not to delete the app at the end of the month and started to pay the monthly fee, that's still 1 million new subscribers (who would pay $10 a month, earning $10 million a month/$120 million a year).

For this whole thing to work in the U.S., DAZN needs MILLIONS upon millions of SUBSCRIBERS.

The fact that the BIG LAUNCH in the U.S. with Joshua resulted in only 15,000 FREE DOWNLOADS ... and who knows how many of those stayed after the first month, was a HUGE DISASTER.

That's why Joshua is gone from the US ads. And now it's all CANELO.

Canelo needs to deliver. All the fighters they sign have to start delivering.

That's also why Hearn has been calling Wilder off the hook since the Fury fight.

Because DAZN need some months where they grab MILLIONS of app downloads, and then they need to hold on to a portion of those people and get them to subscribe before they get another fight that will also bring in MILLIONS of new viewers.

Joshua didn't do it. And now we'll see how Canelo does on Saturday.

I'm rooting for DAZN. But the "launch" has been the equivalent of a guy falling down a very steep hill, banging his head on every rock on the way down.

Maybe Canelo will help flip the script.

Hardy is an incredible actor. In fact, he is so good that most people probably have no idea how many times they have seen him in movies because each role he plays he is totally different. He is the definition of a great actor. He actually acts instead of just playing himself in each role. What a talent. To prove my point do a Google search and look at all the movies has played in.

    That's right it's always Eddie Hearn's fault

    I agree completely Mr S

And I also thought Canelo would sell more tickets but I'm not understanding how some are saying this is all Hearn's problem?

GPB made Fielding an offer, they are paying Fielding, so I would assume Oscar has questions to answer and not Hearn.

Yeah he is outstanding, very underrated, I thought he was amazing in Bronson. I also thought he was superb in RockNRolla as "Handsome Bob"

My wife loves him, she loves him a little too much for my liking LOL

I agree, it's a desperate reach to try and somehow deflect from the 1-2 million PPV buys predictions and the fact it did just over 300K.

Can you imagine if AJ fans were on here saying "AJ is the A-Side, 80 million illegally streamed his last fight.."

Even I would rip them pieces, it's embarrassing.

And lets not forget the fight was made a few weeks before Canelo and Golden Boy had even decided to go to DAZN

Hang on so Eddie Hearn had nothing to do with
Canelo going to DAZN. He gets no credit for that as that's DAZN doing a deal with Golden Boy but a Canelo fight on DAZN which hasn't sold out is down to Hearn.

    Explain that please?

You can't have it both ways.

I know this is a bit OT, but I was amazed when I started to look into how many movies Hardy had been in. The guy is incredible. I haven't seen a single movie you listed but I have seen him in many movies, like The Revenant with DiCaprio. Check out his filmography. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Hardy#Filmography Child 44, Taboo, Dunkirk, Mad Max, The Dark Knight Rises, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, etc.

I can't see that number being true, Mayweather/McGregor only had about 3m illegal stream, yet Forbes estimated a 100m people had illegally streamed it

Canelo's deal with DAZN is separate to Hearn's deal. He won't be paying anyone close to $36m a fight. Even for AJ fights, the majority of AJ's purse will come from the UK. DAZN will be paying at most maybe $2.5m which is what Showtime were paying.
