The battle of the T-Rex arms! Based on how Parker looked in the Joshua and Whyte fights, I think Tua would win: his power and pressure will make Parker timorous and unwilling to throw a whole lot of shots. In a fight he was fully capable of winning against Whyte if he'd dug down and gutted it out, Parker really did have a lethargy about him throughout, and seemed to go into his shell whenever Whyte rallied and put it on him.
David Tua by decapitation. Aside from AJ I think Tua knocks out all of Parker's opponents to date within 2.
Parker is to.open to hit. People keep telling me he's improving but he's really not, he's fighting good his last fight and this one but is it improving ? To a minor extent but prior Whyt e fight he was not improving. In fact he regressed. Parker will need better defense and zone understanding of not smothering his own punches to win this one. It's not a bad fight but Parker is ways off , his combos were really good tonight , but Tu a would press him and hit him with a dozen lefts if that's what it took to stop him. MAYBE Joe " Low Blows " Parker takes Tua ? But not current Joeseph Parker.
Parker's take 3 punches to land 3 punches doesn't work against heavy hitters. The AJ fight showed he can make his opponent miss but he then has no tools to make them pay.
A 220 pound prime Tua stopped Parker, Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder in the same brutal fashion that Tua stopped John Ruiz.
Tua struggled with fighters that used angles and could box on the backfoot. Both Lewis and Byrd easily beat Tua by boxing well and using effective clinches and movement. Parker would look outbox and spoil against him and aside form a home-run shot I can't see Tua winning here. Parker UD.
I like Parker but Tua levels him. For all of his shortcomings, Tua had an iron chin and a truly monstrous left hook. Parker's power and chin are well above average, but hardly elite, and he doesn't have the boxing skills to make up for it.
If you think Whytes left hook hurt Parker when Whyte dropped him with it, wait till ya see Tuas! Huge fan of both but I'd go for Tua.
