If Mayweather came out of retirement and signed to fight Loma in 2019. Who would you pick to win?

Floyd could quite easily fight in the style of Hopkins against Loma to win.

Lomachenko was about 10 pounds(don't remember the exact numbers) heavier than Rigo! ...and there was still some hours for Lomachenko to gain even more and make the difference bigger. So, yes, Lomachenko was much bigger. Not fair to me, and he is talking for "don't want to make my name in fights with old legends", but that was even worse, because old legend Pac is not a easy fight like the one against the (old and) small Rigondeaux.

Yeah for a round or two he was outboxed.

I don't buy the he 'carried' Mcgregor, however Mayweather always knew his experience would come through against the non conditioned novice.

I also think Floyd trained for just enough to get the job done, he didn't need to be any fitter.

Mayweather surely. Loma won’t win a title beyond lightweight, Mayweather done it easily at 154.

Not so sure I would bet heavy on Mayweather, not at this stage.

Makes you wonder what a shot Mayweather would be like, might just even things up and re that McGregor fight I wouldn’t read anything in to that as it was so obvious that Floyd orchestrated the entire thing as he should given he was fighting someone who didn’t even have boxing gym standards,to my eye he let Conor win the first four or five rounds, even let Conor have some success and then finished the show in the exact round and manner he predicted.
Absolutely impossible to form any conclusions about Floyd Mayweather from that fight and re him fighting MMA guys for record pay days, who could blame him as he ain’t got nothing to prove at this stage.

Lomo aside, even now at his age,he’s taken so little physical punishment that if he were to do his gym rat thing I’d still favour him against almost anyone in his weight class for the simple reason that the way he fights he avoids getting hit, doesn’t get sucked in to trading and as such can still probably win seven rounds on auto pilot, that’s not me being a fanboy it’s just testament to how good he was at what he did, best way I could describe is how in Beorn Byorgs day it was said the rest was playing tennis and him something else entirely.

I know what you mean but by the same token it would be hard to bet against him, even now I feel like he could plan for seven rounds as he often did in his pomp, when the judging is fair you could do that with seven rounds in the bank it shouldn’t matter what the opponent does from there on,providing they don’t get any knockdowns of course.

Incredible for such a small guy, pretty sure he had to make weight upwards to make 154lbs,even now against McGregor he was 143lbs days before the weigh in lol, whatever folk think of Floyd, you gotta respect someone who fights at the weight he’s walks around at?obviously a skill thing as Calzaghe a kind of Super Middleweight/light heavyweight version of Floyd apparently also walked around at his fighting weight.

Calzaghe used to walk around at 190 pounds, I don’t know where you’re getting your idea from.
Sorry 195 as per his book. His whole battle at 168 was relentlessly doing roadwork to get down to the weight. He would rehydrate to 180+ after weigh ins as well. And Calzaghe is nothing like Floyd, he had skills but not seriously, and he would overwhelm opponents with his fitness and volume. Almost the exact opposite style of Floyd.

Here it says 14-14.5 stone, which is actually in the 200 pound range

    Myth.

Oscar wasn't drained when he fought Pac.

I picked Oscar to win and expected him to stop the little Filipino.

    I picked Hatton too.

    And Cotto.

After watching Cotto get dismantled, I never picked against Pac again.

As for the thread question, Floyd probably is too big for Loma.

But we haven't seen Floyd in a real fight for more than there years.

If it was made at 140, for May 2019, previous day weigh-in, I'd call it a 50-50 or maybe give Loma a slight edge.

What weight class are we talking about? At 147 Floyd wins MacGregor style . Below that, say 140, Lomo can win a decision.

Maybe. If floyd looked anything like when her fought McGregor, then Loma could still take him.

One thing is certain, Floyd even at 42 would be much better prepared than he was against Conor. Surely, Floyd is past it clearly, but he's much bigger than Loma.

I definitely pick Spence and Crawford over current Floyd at 147 or lower, but against any other 135-147 lb opponents Floyd still has pretty good chances to win

I can see Loma pulling it off. Just don't see Mayweather taking the ass whoopin Hoya did.
