    Headlining a PBC on FS1 card on January 13th (a Sunday), the first major boxing card of 2019 in the Western hemisphere. IBF super middleweight title on the line (1st defense of Uzcátegui, previously interim champ but promoted to full in July when James DeGale vacated).

    The unbeaten challenger is giving up an inch of height and 2½" of reach against the heavy-handed Venezuelan. The incumbent champ has six more kayos than Plant has professional matches (with an overall stoppage rate of 77%). Plant is no feather-fist himself but will have to draw upon his decade of high-level amateur experience (national Golden Gloves champion, and US Olympic team alternate) in this match-up as the nominal "boxer".

    Plant is nowhere near an 18-1 underdog. He's currently a small +150 underdog after opening as a moderate +260 underdog.

    Plant's back foot potshotting gets matched easily by Uzi's ability to press and cut the ring off. Uzi via smoke in the second half of the fight.

    Same, which is why I didn't initially bat an eyelash at my rushed transcriptional error making Plant a much wider underdog than he (somehow) is.

    Ooze Cat is one of my favorite active fighters, so gotta tune in at a minimum and also tuck him by knockout into a parlay at +220, as I've had good luck with him multiple times before.

    Just a couple of weeks ago I was quite sure that Uzcátegui should win and quite decisively, but now I have some worries about this fight, I must admit... Plant is not as small (relatively to Uzcátegui) as I thought and he looks very determined.
