My bad. Rios Alvarado 1 occurred in 2011, and both 1 and 2 of that series are included on your list for 2012. Minor quibble to an overall valid point. 2012 was a solid year with a couple of instant classics. Pep-Saddler 2 was clearly the best of the series. Some moments of brilliance in 3 and 4, amid all the wrestling and mauling.
Fury vs Wilder for me, On display we had.... Skill and a boxing masterclass (Fury) Brutal KO punches (Wilder) a physics-defying recovery (Fury) and a shot in the arm for the HW division!! Shame about the cards though.
My top 3 has to be: Lara vs Hurd Valdez vs Quigg Gassiev vs Dorticos British fights of the year: Bellotti vs Doyle Sharp vs Woodstock Hunter vs Bakole (took place in the UK)
My top 3...Lara vs Hurd, Lomachenko vs Linares and Fury vs Wilder (12th round drama and masterpiece painted by Fury played a big part in my choice) Special mentions to Gassiev vs Dorticos, Zappavigna vs Saucedo, Estrada vs Rungvisai, Takam vs Chisora.
Just saw Valdez vs Quigg. Not a great fight. I was kind of bored actually, mostly by Quigg who looks like a thoroughly British class fighter.
