Whyte Povetkin

I think Whyte KO's current Sasha with a left hook while being outboxed previously.

 

Hard to say. Whyte's improved leaps and bounds whereas Povetkin has declined quite a bit. I'd lean towards Whyte right now. The momentum's with him, and I think he picks Povetkin off with something coming in.

 

Tough one to call. I think the momentum is with Whyte, he's younger fresher and the longer the fight goes the better his chances.

But Whyte is easy to hit and Povetkin hits harder than Chisora. But I can't see Povetkin setting anywhere near the pace Chisora did, but then Povetkin is much better technically and should be able to find Whyte's chin early and often.

I'm leaning towards Povetkin but if it goes beyond 6 rounds then I see Whyte taking over and stopping a tiring Povetkin.

 

The problem with whyte is he will go downhill very abruptly, he's style puts miles on the clock and he has shipped a fair amount of punishment and taken it well. But I can see him unfolding very soon.

Therefore I would stick my neck on the line and say povetkin

 

Wilder wins, since people seem to sh1t on Dillian Whyte despite him taking out Wilder's potential opponents so Deontay can avoid actually defending his belt.
Why the funk are we talking about Whyte taking on yet more contenders?
In the last 3 years, he has a better resume than any Wilder opponent and Wilder himself.
Despite going on a tear since trying to get WBC mandatory he'll be mando for WBO and AJ BEFORE even fighting as Wilder's 2nd mando!?!

Whyte fights old bums and doesn't look good. easy work for any version of povetkin.

 

Povektin hits harder than Parker and Parker had Whyte hurt bad. Povektin would find the mark earlier than Parker and more often as well. However while typing this it's come to my attention than Povekin and Chisora's paths never crossed. Would have been a great fight in the past.

 

I think he's a monster right now, but see exactly what your saying in him. When he starts to unravel or slow down, he'll get bombed out a lot/regular

 

Not ready to put Whyte over Povetkin, people have very short term memories on here .We just saw Whyte struggle with a aggressive swarmer , Povetkin would do less smothering but he has way better movement and set ups then Chisora , add in the other fight which was how Povetkin looked against AJ.

Whyte could beat Povetkin but I think he's going to lose a UD here if they fought anytime before 2020. Style wise I like Whytes chances against Ortiz better.

 

Yeah I think Whyte has a better chance vs Ortiz. Ortiz isn't going to pressure like Povetkin or Chisora, even Kaufmann was able to take the fight late by employing a little movement. Ortiz's slow feet and inability to effectively cut off the ring could see him finding it hard to get to Whyte with any kind of consistency.

Whyte showed a level of smarts and the ability to execute a game plan vs Chisora we haven't seen before. He could of easily jumped on Chisora in that first round and gassed himself earlier in the fight but he conserved his energy, boxed conservatively for him and picked his moment to jump on a tiring Chisora. I expect Whyte to try and do the same vs Ortiz who we know will gas late.

Ortiz has a punchers chance of course, but the longer the fight goes the better for Whyte, I've always favoured Ortiz vs Whyte but now I think it's a much closer affair now seeing how Whyte continues to improve and show us new things. Wouldn't shock me if Whyte came out on top. If he doesn't get the Joshua fight, I'd love to see Whyte/Ortiz.

 

Povetkin KO’s him, a la the Takam KO.

 

Povetkin is a class above Whyte and takes him out in the middle rounds. Whyte doesnt have much of a defence and gets hit a lot. Povetkin has the power to take Whyte out, he has elite level power. Yes he has declined and he is now the on the slide, but he has enough to take Whyte out.

 

Still rolling with Povetkin on this one unless his tank is seriously gone.
