Quotes from David A's team on the scene https://www.*******.com/marsh-slams-adam-booth-over-josh-kelly-vs-avanesyan-fallout--134915 They making it out he was ill he was fine leaving the hotel joking and smiling getting into the car outside the hotel back home. THEY WILL NOT fight him next year they will swerve and fight some tomoto can, telling us he needs a warm up fight
I said this at the time quoting Neil Marsh on Twitter. It was the most blatant bottle job we’ve seen for a while.
Agree. And Booth calling out Amir khan and kell at 147 saying he throw him in with them right now? and he isn't confident against David Ab. Really worries me when the manager pulls a stunt like this as a fighter it makes you wonder is my manager not 100% confident in me
The story about Booth just picking up the first pair of gloves and throwing them in the bag without looking at the others, proves that he had already decided to pull Josh from the fight then. Trying to move the fight from 12 to 10 rounds was probably meant as a stunt to justify the pull out, and back up the lie that he was ill. A real clear case of a bottle job here. This is a quote from Neil Marsh:----- “They underestimated my experience with the WBA, who I have worked with as both a manager and promoter at all levels, so I got in contact with their European chief. I confirmed with them that it was a 12 round fight for a title, which was the contract submitted and the fight that they approved. “I met with Adam Booth, I called him out and asked him why he wanted to cheat David out of two rounds? He replied it was always a 10 round fight, which again I called him out on and replied that he didn’t want the fight. He first threatened to lose the title to make it a 10 round non-title fight and then threatened to pull out of the fight there and then, unless it was changed to 10 rounds. In short, they bottled it! “The next morning I saw Adam Booth leaving the hotel with some of his things and then later on in the rules meeting he barely inspected the gloves, basically picking the first ones he opened and throwing them in the box he didn’t open pair two and why would you not look at the options to give your fighter the best gloves to suit. I knew something was really off because this is strange behaviour. I knew even more that something was wrong." “I wouldn’t advise one of my fighters to fight if they were legitimately ill, but the night before I saw Kelly in the hotel bar with all his mates laughing and joking. David was relaxed all week, in tremendous condition and ice cool at the weigh-in, so I don’t know whether that was when they finally decided. “Booth treated me like I was stupid, probably because he doesn’t know me and I’ve never criticised people in public before. Business should be done behind closed doors, but you need to stand up for yourself and your fighter and your team
As I said before they probably felt Kelly could easily handle DA, and I agree. But then he had a real struggle to make weight and they didn’t want to risk it. Kelly has a lot of casual hype right now. Sky and Matchroom are branding him as an untouchable matrix style showboater. He takes an L to someone the casual market has never heard of and all that hype and money disappears. Booth knows this. He’s an astute and financially savvy man
Has Kelly ever had weight problems for any of his previous fights? He always looks in top top shape to me.
This isn't proof that this happened as there two sides to a every story. Saying that thou it doesn't look good, and story seems real, it would be interesting to hear booth's side to the story
Not sure at all how this confirms it ? It’s just someone who is obviously biased expressing their opinion. Surely if they bottled it they wouldn’t wait until day of the fight.
They knew DA looked great. My mate was at the weigh-in and Booth was really studying DA (well he always does to be honest even in his David Haye days) looking like his usual all hawkeye self. Kelly looked a little lethargic. I think they got spooked hoping overnight he be ok and he was not so thought lets pull out. They was hoping to see how DA looked (e.g fleshy etc) and then decide next day. DA camp did sayt they looked amazing in training camp which i have no doubt filtered to Booth too. DA came to win big.
Cool story, still none of this is proof or confirms they “bottled” it, the only evidence is that of someone who is biased in DA’s manager ? Hopefully JK and DA have the fight rearranged and we get to the bottom of it. I sincerely doubt that Adam Booth or Josh Kelly would get spooked by someone’s physique, especially after watching tapes of DA fights.
It doesn't prove it, your right. But for a manager to go public with these accusations, you don't expect them to be making them up
Well people who stayed in the same hotel mentioned he was fine didn't look ill leaving after rules meeting he jogged to the car. There is never any smoke without fire. Go to Twitter lots of fans saw this too. Why would DA make these up? They losing big money and if he was right he came to win big. Kelly and booth slid out of this fight no doubt. The bull**** press release was bull****.
