GGG was a phenomenal fighter making boxing interesting again. Fans love agressive fighters with iron chin and heavy hands and GGG was like an action hero with whom many men would like to identify themselves with. Sad that Canelo waited GGG to get old and still beat him with controversy, the only thing that GGG lacked to beat Alvarez was speed, he was just too slow...

I actually do think hes slightly overrated, in general.

Nothing against him... a damn good, unique fighter who in his last hurrah beat a primed out Canelo imo (first fight)

But his legacy suffers from lack of names due to being ducked in his prime, and h2h he also has his hands full with more middleweights than people would like to believe, imo.

It was a disgrace that we never got to see him fight the top names in his division far earlier. It was an absolute embarrassment to the sport at one point.

I think had he moved to US when he was 24-25, he'd be far more succseful than he already is.

Guys just for a minute imagine GGG had the backing of
Nob nennett, the NSAC USADA Vegas boxing official;s behind him like Floyd had & Canelo has now throughout his career ??? He'd be spoken of today by EVERYONE in the same light as Ali & Sugar Ray
all he needed was a good manager and a level playing field in all his fights. He;d be an unbeaten ATG today

Underrated by whom?forum guys,YouTube comments guy cause otherwise the Boxing world, pros n x pros, commentators and the large Newspaper boxing journalists who have seen everyone all seem to have a deep respect for skill in positioning, his dominant jab and of course his power.
YOu can definitely say his defence is underrated but it’s worth noting all those newspaper guys like The Times had Golovkin winning the second fight by two rounds.
