Degale has grown on me throughout his career, so I wouldn’t mind seeing him go for one last hurrah. Also, I’m always interested in any opportunity of that ***** getting beat/hurt. Will not pay for it though.
Throughout his career Degale has been content to do just enough in fights ! Without doubt he could be brilliant in patches but his habit of coasting and being lazy hanging on ropes has been a problem , whether this was due to lack of of discipline or conditioning is anyone’s guess? His shoulder is shot and he struggled with Truax who was supposed to be an average opponent so most would agree that his future does not appear positive. It seems that both Warren and Hearns are not interested in promoting him so without a title I suppose he has to spin the dice in the hope he can get a decision over CEJ . Without an authoritive jab that’s a tall order .
You can stick a fork in DeGale cos he's done, and Eubank Jnr just isn't very good... A divvy man knows this isn't PPV
Eubank should win, Degale is pretty much finished at this point in his career despite all the excuses for the poor performances over the last few years about injuries and whatnot and that his body is back to normal now, I’m not convinced one bit, he’s like Haye, his body just won’t hold up anymore.
Eubank is all wrong for Degale at this stage In his career. Degale will need that jab to be on point or else it Could be a brutal night. Shame ITV couldn't experiment with this fight and stick it on ITV1 at 22:00. Anyone know the purses expected for both fighters?
2.9mil tuned into Hughie vs Cornish on Channel 5. Two known boxers fighting on ITV1 on a Saturday night. With a proper push on marketing. How many watch this? Least they have learned their lessons from WBSS
This is a good fight -- degale blows hot and cold -- I think he may be too lazy and get outworked by eubank
With a proper push on ITV it does 5 million plus- the issue would be in securing advertising/endorsements etc to make up the difference. PPV is a very simple way of making capital provided there is even a small demand- say 100k plus for profit if the fighters aren’t on mega money. Eubank Sr has already stated his son will only box on PPV going forward so ITV have their hands tied as regards to this fight.
Selby was on the Eubank Jr v Abraham undercard 18 months back, so theres a decent chance. Think that was the last stand alone ITV PPV (ignoring all the WBSS).
