That kind of guy is marketable to the American public. America loves good old country boys. I think he will be successful and a draw.

Remember Bones Adams? Nobody cared. Plant is him in a larger body.

Congrats to Plant for his win but Uze lacked fire and looked flat all night to me. He should've used the jab a hell of a lot more but for some reason he neglected to do so. SMW really is a complete wasteland at the moment, other than Benavidez and Smith it's as barren as desert. I actually want to vomit when I look at the rankings.

I think the negative tactics were just him not wanting to engage and run to keep his advantage in the fight. He had already done all the work and Uzcátegui’s lack of plan completely ruined him. He must have been over trained as he really didn’t do much in the fight and looked tired. He wasn’t even close to having any major success in the fight. It’s a poor division and let’s be honest, any average fighter could win a world title there.

The real disappointing thing from Uzcat's perspective is he didn't have the tank himself to capitalize the last third of the fight. He waited too long to turn it up, and didn't have the last gear he needed once he did. A couple of the latter rounds, Plant still won on sharper punching, and that's really all he needed to ice it.

I still think a 12 round, skilled pressure fighter could be Plant's kryptonite, but Jose didn't have that in him.

Smith is a mile ahead of the others in the division, it’s very poor. Yildrim and Dirrell are fighting for the world title next month, says it all.

Pretty much indicative of how the fight went, Plant pretty much dominated the opening six, and then Uzcategui surged in the final quarter, but not the extent where he could prevent Caleb from having moments and taking rounds.

Good fight, clear win for Plant. I had it 7-5 and 115-111 with the knock downs.

Uzcategai closed the gap the last few rounds he just got too far behind early.

It will be interesting to see who Plant defends against next.

There’s a handful of good fighters with PBC at 168-Dirrell, Benadivez,Quillen, even a rematch with Uzcategai.
