lol Rahman got a lucky punch, and it was lewis own fault but in the rematch it was total ownage no need for a third fight:good I wish, even though the state of vitali's face they had of let it gone on for two more rounds as lewis would of ko'd him. The uppercut he took in the sixth should of near killed him. Vitali was tiring worse then lewis and obviously had vision problems due to the deep laceration where his face used to be :yep Two more rounds and i honestly belive lewis would of stopped him and had it been an in shape lewis then he would of owned him :rasta
Well said man. Most people forgot that Lewis was way out of shape going in the Vitali fight. In the rematch Lewis would have been in better shape and will finish the job clearly.
Yep. Vitali was lucky it was stopped at that point because that damage was borderline career ending. What am i saying - Vitali had no career post Lewis. Overhyped myth.
Name calling on a message board. You gotta love these internet tough guys. Grow up, man. Life's too short.
Picking Vitali by stoppage or decision in the rematch, won't be surprised if he loses but Lewis would've been 39 years old and hardly motivated at that point and will think he's going to go in there and land the same bombs that will eventually open up those cuts sooner or later, which won't happen and Vitali will take full advantage of it. Tough fight to pick considering the first fight was pretty close and competitive.
I agrre that Vitaly would not be the same if Lewis KO him in the next round, but saying Vitaly had no career post Lewis is just not correct or ignorance.
Rematch..hmm tough one, if it happened within a year I'd pick Lewis, as he'd presumably be in better shape and he'd go after than scar tissue and continue to cut Vitali in a subsequent fight. If after a year, I think age would slow him down too much, and I'd go with Vitali, assuming he doesn't injure himself in training and postpone the fight indefinately.
If they rematched within 12months of the 1st fight I too would go for LL. I think Lewis fought the first fight thinking hes gonna go in there and blast out Vitali, he didnt really box he seemed to want to stand and trade - now thats very uncharacteristic of Lewis...he never really fought anyone I can think of like that....he usually boxes. Had that fight gone on another round or 2 I think LL would have either KO'd or TKO'd Vitali. We can argue this till the cows come home but I think Lewis was getting his 2nd wind in the last 2 rounds and starting to come on stronger. Vitali was holding alot and people seem to forget that. And Vitali saying that Lewis cut him with headbutts is total nonesense. He got cut up with punches and they were so bad that the ref & doc felt they had to stop the fight. 2nd fight LL by KO or TKO with LL fighting a very different fight.
Vitaly only trained for a week or two for that fight and still made lewis look bad. If Vitaly had been in top shape he would have killed Lewis in 3-4 rounds.
Lewis trained for months and still looked terrible. He would have lost in a rematch and he knew it so he quit like a *****.
Lewis was not in good shape. Even Vitali admitted that. Hasim "Oleg Maskaev whupped me twice" Rahman could beat an undertrained Lewis, but Quitali lost to the heaviest, oldest, coming off the longest strech of inactivity version of Lewis that ever fought professionally. But Vitali did win more rounds before losing. :yep
More like was illegally cut by that cheater lewis and was forced to stop. Viitaly owned him so the cheater retired.
Yeah, I forgot about that. Here are the rules according to Quitali fanboys: 1) It is not a real loss if you quit when you are ahead on points. 2) It is not a real loss if you lose due to cuts. 3) It is illegal to cut Brittley with a punch.
