Keith Thurman's Distasteful/Offensive Impersonation of Manny Pacquiao...

I don't go out of my way to watch interviews but from what I have seen this was a pretty stark contrast of how I previously perceived Thurman. Listen to his prefight profile last night and how he spoke and what he spoke about. Depression and being a fighter n all. And just for the record I think his impersonation was borderline racist and in very poor taste in general. Manny is a classy dude and I used to think kieth was a classy dude. To me it was thurmans personality, class, and Knock his opponents out fighting style that made him someone interesting to follow. Seems he's lost his class and he changed his style long ago, the minute he felt semi world class level power.

Keith speaks well and people laud him for it and it has clearly gone to his head.

If he finds himself against an intellectual equal or superior it is really going to mess with his head.

 

My mate's dad was Glaswegian and his kids used to do funny impressions of him all the time.

I guess it depends on the person and the context. It's up to Manny whether or not he finds this offensive. It's not like Thurman has thrown any racial epithets or stereotypes in there.

 

Some people might shout racism but that wouldn't make it so.

If said white fighter was quoting or saying Broner like things then I think it'd be fair game. If he was banging on about chicken and watermelon and playing up to stereotypes that have been applied to black people rather than Broner as an individual then it'd be racist.
