Does Brian Nielsen deserve the dislike he gets the American boxing public.

Additionally Witherspoon, Tubbs, and Jeremy Williams all suggested that they had been paid to take dives in their fights against Nielsen.

He beat them when they were way past prime.

He wouldn't have made a good sparring partner for prime Holmes, Tubbs, Witherspoon and DeLeon.

He lost to Dicky Ryan while still in his "prime."

He has one of the most inflated records I've seen.

    Context is your friend.

Even if they didn't, they were shot to Shi@. when they fought him.

I got him mixed up with Axel Schulz. Now he was the real uncrowned champ!

My god! Do you really believe all you read on the internet?
Maybe it is time I put up my shares in The Eifel Tower and The Golden Gate Bridge up for sale.
I have each and every Brian Nielsen fight on tape, so I don´t have to be told what to mean.
The reason for the Don Steele fight was simple. His promotor Mogens Palle (who by the way is in an American Hall of Fame) was trying to get Nielsen to beat Marcianos 49-0 record, but was afraid that Steele would get there first, so he put up a lot of money to get Steele to Denmark. And my god Steele was terrible too.

Controversy arose in early 2004, when journeyman heavyweight Thomas Williams stated that he had been bribed to throw his fight against Nielsen in March, 2000. Along with promoter Robert Mitchell, Williams was indicted by the United States District Court for the District of Nevada for match fixing in order to promote the career of Richie Melito, and it was during the FBI's investigation of that case that Williams admitted to intentionally losing to Nielsen. The fix was arranged by promoter Robert Mittleman, a frequent associate of Nielsen's promoter Mogens Palle, who later confessed that he had been paid $1,000, while Williams had received "up to $40,000" from Palle in order to lose the fight. Williams, Mitchell and Mittleman were all found guilty of sports bribery by the court in November and December, 2004.[6][7]

The Nielsen vs. Williams fight was the 57th of Nielsen's career. Nielsen and Mogens Palle denied any knowledge of the match fixing, and were not charged of any wrongdoing by American or Danish authorities

He was a decent fighter but fighters that look that out of shape tend to be looked upon in a harsh light. Someone once made an interesting post on Brian .. imagine if he retires at 49 - 0 with victories over four former world champions (Holmes, Tubbs, Witherspoon, DeLeon) how his record could have been spun.

You're ****ing clueless buddy. You're given substantial and well researched proof to something and you just turn up your nose like some kind of consummate ***** in back to back posts. It's incredible.

I could care less how many of the mans bouts you own.

He has an ATG 80s heavyweight resume. Give the man his respect. It's not his fault that he turned pro in the 90s.

He lost to a shot, unmotivated old Mike Tyson and barely fought outside of Denmark. Let's not forget the rumored fixed fights and handpicked tomato cans. He gave the boxing public no reason to respect him and tried to take the easiest route to breaking Marciano's record.

I give up Russell, you are simply too clever and intelligent for me.
Did you want any of my shares in The Eifel Tower, by the way?

No, I'm much more interested in your substantial and through Brian Nelson career set on VHS. Why don't you tell us some more about that.
