No dum-dum, trust me they were definitely at 135. I know what I'm talking about.

    Not in this case.

Chavez's first title fight at 135 was against El Chapo. Then he unified against Ramirez.

Chavez might've had some non-title bouts over the limit, but the title bouts against Pratchett and Laporte were at 130.

Neither Whitaker or Chavez had a close fight at 135.

As for Mayweather, he lost to Castillo imo and had a close fight with him even in the rematch.

This is boring now. The weights are next to the date. From boxrec.com. Don't feel bad, we all make mistakes.

Why are you bringing up DLH"s fights @ 135?

    We're talking about Chavez's fights @ 130 and 135.

That's why I bolded the paragraph about Chavez's fights when I said "none of those were at 135".

And then talked about Chavez's fights against Pratchett and Laporte not being at 135.

I was never talking about DLH @ 135. He had only 2 fights @ 130.

Uli; I've been around to long to let you deter me. I have read a lot of crappy posts from you in the last year or so. but never called you on one. maybe i'm a bit of a chavez nut hugger. bottom line as per the thread question dlh would have got his ass kicked from a prime chavez @135

Thread Stealer is correct. Prachart or how ever you spell and Laporte were at 130. I just checked it out. Good mistake on how he moved very fast through 135 to 140.

Looking at it, Chavez only had six fights at 135, but won two titles and beating Rosario and Ramirez. Oscar had seven fights at 135 and his most notable fight was with John John. Hernandez and Leija and throw in Paez came from 130.

I'd say Ruelas was DLH's most notable at 135. It was more or less his "break-out" fight.

DLH had 7 title fights @ 135, but even from the start he was above 130. Most fighters go "over the limit" in non-title bouts, but DLH only actually made 130 two times. I'd say from the start he was a lightweight, so if I were to come up with his record as a lightweight I'd have him at much higher than 7-0.

I am blown away by how many votes Oscar has. A younger, greener Oscar at 135 vs the bulldozer that plowed through Rosario? Gimme a break.

Meldrick Taylor and Oscar De La Hoya don't fight much alike. They are both fast and won Gold Medals, but that's basically where the similarities end.

All time P4P, I have Chavez ahead of Oscar.

That aside, DLH is all wrong for Chavez. This is a matchup where size matters. At 135 Oscar was a monster. A man amongst boys. As great as Chavez was, Oscar is all wrong for him.
