I was going to make a post about this.

    Ward looked PHENOMINAL tonight.

One thing that stood out to me about him...his footwork, for that early in his career is AMAZING!!! No other way to put it. It was painfully obvious that his movement, combine with his accurate punching, kept Ravelo off balance all night (and unable to throw the right all night). I was shocked at how well Ward moves in there.

His defense, counterpunching, accuracy, ring intellect (you see after he realized his left was landing at will, he switched to southpaw to set up a more powerful straight left??? WOW!), ring generalship, movement....the kid impressed this **** outta me (and Im not being sarcastic huki... ).

Honestly, a great showing tonight by Ward.

Tho I agree...he only has 16 fights total and he is still young...there is plenty of time not to rush him along. Ravelo was a good start (as was Williams right before this one..). He does look like he could be a special fighter tho.

I told people two year ago that the rebirth of the amercian Super middleweights was at hand. Many of the European posters said I was crazy, it was just like Shieka and Mitchell some pretenders...And I told them no way these guys coming have some real talent, in those I listed Taylor, Pavlik, Dirrell, Ward, McGrit Jr, and Curtis Stevens. It seems right now that I only missed on McGrit Jr.:good

Goosen said this week that he wants Ward fighting for a belt by his 20th fight. If he stays active, that should be sometime next year. He looked great tonight, I wonder who they will put him against next.

I guess I'm the only one, but I didn't think Ward looked that great. It's nice that he can beat down a *very* faded Ravelo (who we all know, from the Contender, doesn't have any reaction time left), but he looked fairly sluggish to me, and question whether he has the talent to deal with someone with natural quickness, like a Mundine or Dirrell.

I mean, I don't see any reason why he can't win a belt at some point, but I also don't see him ever becoming elite or a star, which is what some people seem to expect of him.

I like Ward. He has real star potential.

His handlers will ahve to be careful though.

I'm downloading the entire broadcast to see him. Have never seen what the fuss is about previously. Hope to see improvement.

Move Calzaghe's balls out of the way, you may see things more clear.

Oh no name calling, I expect better from you:-(. Seriously I haven't seen a good Calzaghe nuthug from you in a while, not since Calzaghe's famed Christmas card letter to old B-Hop. Back to the topic though, Ward is a world class athlete but, I don't think he has grown into a pro yet fully. The last fight I saw of his was on Showtime, and he beat a guy he was supposed to but, not in an impressive manner. After that bout he was drawing comparisons to Jermain Taylor.
