can't believe this mini-feud is still going on,it would help this thread if both of youboys rose above it,you know irish boxing is for both sides of the irish community not just the majority, bringing up the politics of the north is going to stop those non-nationalist from commenting on this thread,i know there are plenty of boys from the north on this site who have never posted here. what a shame about mccullough, what a boxer what a legend, one of the greatest fighters ever to come out of this island, going to japan and winning the title was one of the best feats ever accomplished by an irish man, the way he handled himself outside the ring was commendable and let's hope that he can still contribute to the sport that he's already given so much too,and please wayne ... stay away from ufc.
i'm reading that mc cullough was ahead on 2 of the judges scorecards when he retired on his stool...can anyone fill me in - did he have a bad round before he decided not to continue ??
the irish boxing thread is like a sanctuary of peace on this forum so dont go ****in it up with tit for tat arguements
The problem with Slapbangwallop and Fra is that they have very similar personalities. They are both highly volatile individuals, and have complete tunnel vision in regards to there points of view,NO ONES RIGHT BUT THEM. They need to sort this matter out. And I propose that they do that in the time honoured fashion.3x3min rds in the squared circle at, say, one of cormacs Irish boxing fan club meetings, with all the posters on this thread watching on. And may the best man win:bbb, the loser can buy a round of drinks for everyone.:yep:hi:
Hello doug, here's a better insight into why Wayne retired on his stool last night. WAYNE McCULLOUGH QUITS THE RING http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sport/other-sports/article3822480.ece
Ireland have won 4 golds at EU championships. Darren Sutherland and Ken Egan beat English opponents. Sutherland beat James DeGale 22-16 and Egan beat Tony Jeffries 14-7, Jeffries retired in 3rd round. John Joe Nevin and James Oliver Joyce also won gold.
