Yeah you’ve got a point. I just want to see the best fights get made and after Wilder Fury naturally there’s more expectation about the best guys facing each other this year.

It's been said a few times but Joshua has signed to face and/or already beaten Wlad, Parker, Pulev, Whyte, Povetkin, Breazeale and now Miller. I know Pulev got injured but it's not like he's ducked him. If Wilder and Fury are fighting again what can he do? Fight Ortiz? People would just say he's fighting an old man. He already gets grief for how old Povetkin and Klitschko were despite fighting them as soon as he realistically could.

I don't see how it will succeed.

    1) AJ has nowhere NEAR the abroad following that Hatton had.
    2) AJ has no profile in the states compared to Fury.
    3) His opponent has no profile either.

Agreed especially on point 1. That football team / boxer link can be huge. I reckon that’s what Hearn is/was trying to build with Ritson and Newcastle United.

That's why Frank will succeed with Warrington. He is a poor man's Hatton in terms of following atm.

Do you see AJ taking 30'000 people away for this fight? I don't. He won't even do a quarter of that, IMHO.

Look at why he is taking this fight, the backlash from the fans, and that means next-to-nobody travelling for it.

He'd already KO'ed Cunningham in a very good fight, and he's Irish. AJ hasn't fought their and isn't Irish.

We don't know what sort of away following AJ will have, but New York has a sizeable British ex pat following. Also, I've said elsewhere, but people are desperately trying to pretend he's not popular and will use every attempt going to prove this. Bigger PPV's than Fury? Counts for nothing as he's not bigger in America. Sells more tickets than Hatton? Doesn't count as Hatton had more away fans.

Basically, if you flog as many PPV's as AJ and shift that many tickets you simply are popular end of.

And I love the idea that Tyson 'five punches a round' Fury is suddenly a household name after being the B side of a fight that did 300k.

Only in the mind of the most deranged Fury fanboy does Tyson take 30,000 with him. He barely sells half that in tickets at home.

The last sentence of your first paragraph typifies excellently one of the reasons I have an issue with rabid MR fans. Despite all the abundant evidence to the contrary, you still resolutely believe that narrative. You then claim you wish no ill will on a fighter APART from Wilder. Your rank hypocrisy is amusing, Sir Wankalot.

The above pales into insignificance to money-talk though.

For any lurkers or fence-sitters here, do a simple comparison. Have a look at the difference between the threads on the General board and the British boards of this forum. Very quickly, you'll notice that the British section contains mostly threads where around 60-70% of the posts reference with unhealthy interest money or figures in some way or another to the exception of anything else even, ironically, boxing talent or skill.

A hardcore group of posters here who now sit happily on ignore have managed to completely change the context of any discussions re boxing to start and end with finances and figures. I, along with most genuine boxing fans have an issue with that.

Excuse me sir but, for one, im no MR fanboy. Im nobodies fanboy but. I can see BS for what it is. If it looks like ****, smells like **** and sounds like bull**** then thats what it is.

So many people too numerous to mention in a million posts have completely discredited what Wilder, his team and his fanbois have spouted, I dunno what else to tell you.
Wilder is a discredit to boxing right now. He took the Fury fight as a cherry pick that very nearly went wrong, text Whyte to say youll be waiting minimum of 2 yrs boi, and then turns round to a holder of 4 belts, 50/50 or no fight. Wilder is just a shithouse, end of
