I see now why Football players see boxing as their Annuity. Paul Gallen is still chasing SBW and if it comes to fruition he stands to make more than his final yr contract with the Sharks 700 G. According to reports a fight was agreed in 2017 with Gallen to pocket 300 G and 30 % of the Aust and NZ PPV. However after the Hopate fight Gallen thinks with his profile he is now worth 50 % as he would be required to carry the promotion as All Black star SBW prefers to let his actions do the talking. Paul Gallen I like because of his speech after da Hopa fight * about da media always leaving professional boxer's out * SBW is a joke .
* Steven Edward cutman for the Hornet who was in the corner of the Prodigy gives an insight " We have all posted on he massive courage shown by Liam in last night fight to win so convincingly having busted both hands half the fight. I want everyone to know how calm , peace and spot on the money Alfie DiCarlo was dealing with this between rds. He was huge part of the making adjustments in the fight plan to acclimatise to physical injuries to both hands as well as calmly address the mental challenges of fighting with such injuries. " * Is the Hornet attempting what Kell Brooks did and skip a division to fight for the MW Title ? Stuart Duncan matchmaker for Fox has been talking this up. Jeff Horn v Rob Brant at middleweight, eh? Tough fight for Horndog. Brant is a big, long-limbed guy who just got 11 decent rounds under his belt. As opposed to Horndog who would be coming in off a 96-second blowout. If it was being talked up on ESPN I'd say there's a fair chance it's on. Something to look forward to in May. We've got a decent first half of the year coming up. Andrew Moloney & Jai Opetaia on 22 March. Possibly Jeff Horn & Dennis Hogan in world title shots in May. It looks like this thread will be going gangbusters this year!
If Horn thinks he is such a big bad ass why doesn't he just get his team to get the money together and bring GGG out to Brisbane for a fight. If he wins Canelo will have no choice but to fight him LOL. I would pay good money to see that.
You might actually be onto something here. Get a belt at middleweight & then lure Triple G or Canelo out to Australia for a Manny Pacquiao-style blockbuster. It seems far fetched but then again so did the Pacquiao fight & that happened. As for why they don't go straight for GGG, 1. he doesn't currently hold a belt, & 2. it's the kind of fight Horn will need to build up to.
* Tysinn Best who made a successful 1st defense of Aust WW Title on the weekend and now unbeaten in 10 fights already has another bout lined up in May at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Best is hoping to clean up the division in Aust and a solid matchup would be Ben Savva who headlines Johnny Lewis Fight Night at Star Casino April 28. * Tasman Luke Jackson so courageous in defeat with Carl Frampton last yr know now its now or never with his career and is now stationing himself in Sydney. * Lovermore Nodu on March 2 will be inducted into the Aust Boxing Hall of Fame in Melb.
