Unless the Beatles reunite or Elvis Presley returns to perform with BJS as support then yes I would say its safe to assume its the arena
It's meant to be 80m of ESPN for American rights for Furys next 5 fights. He then gets to keep money made from gate and UK tv revenue etc. Brilliant deal and i would imagine makes Fury as commercially as big as any heavyweight that is active.
80 Million for 5 fights, the big man can't turn that down. I've got a feeling he won't fight Wilder next now though. Maybe the Oquendo / Charr winner in May for the *WBA? Just a side point - that fight is a disgrace. How Oquendo is getting a fight for a World (albeit paper belt) after coming off a loss.... 5 years ago?!?!?!
All the networks are, not the fighters. You can’t knock a fighter for signing the best possible deal for themselves. The networks need to be able to work together or allow their fighters to fight on other platforms if the other platform wins a fair purse bid. Today’s news was a bit **** and underwhelming but I don’t blame fury whatsoever.
With Saunders headling, Frank may as well pitch a tent in the arena car park- even then it wouldn’t be sold out.
I agree mate. Fury has bagged himself a great deal how can he refuse it. To put it in perspective Joshua would need to do around 2 million ppv buys on sky to get what Fury is getting per fight of ESPN and he still has his tv rights at home ! Maybe tv channels should do 2 fight deals with 1 fight on each platform or share fight have same price point and split total revenue.
Franks pulled a brilliant move as it will be very hard for Wilders team to beat Furys in a purse bid.
Yep. I assumed @TonyHayers and the rest of the alter ego's would've had a lot to say about such an unpopular, boring fighter, getting an 80 million deal off an American network, while keeping his gate money + UK tv money.
