Partnering with a massive promoter in a new region is not a duck and never will be Thats like saying Joshua signing with DAZN was a duck If anything it makes the rematch more realistic because now Fury has a US broadcaster behind him which makes negotiations fairer. Think about the first fight, Fury had no bargaining chips so he ended up in the ring with 2 biased judges ringside. If he went into negotiations for the rematch how is he gonna demand neutral refs without the big money of someone like ESPN behind him?
Neither Joshua or Wilder have exclusive deals with Showtime or DAZN. So technically it doesn't prevent Fury fighting either of them on an ESPN card. I think it's a smart move, he makes more money and it means he actually has a US based promoter to work the system and grease the right palms to ensure he doesn't get robbed again. The fact he was just willing to fight Wilder again in the US after being robbed shocked me, but now he has ties with Arum and has this deal he's on an equal footing in the US and can hopefully ensure he doesn't get robbed again by actually co-promoting the event.
Fury choose money over fighting AJ. as the fight will now NEVER happen. The way things are going he wont even fight Wilder lol. He conned a lot of people here.
If you think Eddie was ever going to let Joshua step foot in a ring with Fury you're dreaming, full stop. What Fury has done however is add more layers of bureaucracy and politics to his matchmaking knowing full well those two factors compound any issues he has making future fights with Wilder. Let's be honest, who gives a toss about the trio facing anyone else, short of Usyk putting on a masterclass against Povetkin.
This might be the first time in boxing history that a Brit fighter goes to the US, and fights before two Brit judges and a Mexican, and his fans still think the judges were biased.
Don't go pissing on the narrative with facts please mate. It's hilarious how the "muh robbery" yapping dogs either refuse to acknowledge or don't even know how to acknowledge that the commentary for that fight both in the US and UK (I watched both, one live one after) was some of the most one-sided I have ever seen or heard in favouring Fury. Fedora-wearing ferret-face Paulie was talking about a "Masterclass" from literally 1 minute into the first round, his hatred for Wilder is palpable. Everything Wilder landed in the first half of the fight was ignored, while Fury hitting thin air, gloves and elbows was "ooohh'd and aaaah'd".
He doesn't do it for the money though (as he is quick to bore people to death with at every opportunity)
exactly? who is he supposed to sign with? DAZN and Eddie Hearn? smh people are dumb. if the fight and money is big enough, networks and promotion companies always come together and make a deal. especially in unification fights. Tyson is an example of this, he's a big enough star to overcome all these obstacles.
