I wish that Darius and Jones fought back in the day. I have no doubt Jones wins that fight but I'd like to have seen how Mic....Tiger faired against him. I'm on the fence but leaning towards yes for the HOF. A win against Jones would have put him over the line for sure.
In general, definitely yes. But the way it works with American voters, he's borderline at best (I came to this conclusion following December's results when he was omitted for one of the weakest if not the weakest Hall Class in history comprised of Curry, Jackson, and McGirt (!). Let's be honest, McGirt's training helped him get in, if he never worked a corner then he would have never deserved Hall induction as a fighter for his in-ring accomplishments fell short. Dariusz is representing a minority country (Poland) and after seeing Donald Curry finally get elected after waiting like 20 years or so (something crazy like that) that does make me a bit optimistic again about Dariusz's candidacy. But I realize that if Curry had to wait so long, then Michalczewski definitely isn't waiting a shorter time. No way. Lee Groves has done a great job advocating for the Polish-born, German-based fighter, as have other scribes, but it will take a very, very long while before we see Michalczewski on stage in Canastota. Again, the year that passed was his best shot so far since being eligible starting in 2011, and the next years ahead look out of reach when glimpsing at the names that will make those ballots.
I think he deserves to be in, and I tend to believe he will get in at some point. I know a lot of people on these message boards have standards that are not only far higher than my own, but they also tend to be far more difficult than even deemed by the Hall itself. DM made a strong enough impact, and I think he checks most of the right boxes.
yeh Dariuz is obviously a really good fighter too so its a shame he did it. Now all he has is one valid title fight to show for his entire career. Joe cal at least has a few.

Joe cal at least has a few. its their loss, imagine putting in 11 years of work, only to notch one or two victories that count whilst guys like Toney or Froch did that in eleven months. I wonder if it affects them post retirement.
his wins over griffin and hill mean hes elite, but HoF for one valid win is crazy. Unification is a solid case for being elite too, unless like Seven Ottke its been achieved thru constant cheating. If everyone goes into HoF got unifying then HoF would have thousands.
He fought everyone who would fight him. The HOF is terribly US biased but if guys like Bowe ans Gatti get in so does Darius
for one valid unification/defence and a 3 scalps? admittedly 2 of them were HoF themselves. You've quoted two questionable additions, is that your case, a questionable HoF member? Seems weakazz.
Everyone likes to bring up Gatti. Gatti had numerous FOTY wars and was one of the most fan friendly fighters out there.
I remember that fight where McCarthy was hit by an opponents mother with a shoe in her hand but never knew he fought the greats in Michalczewski and Maske. Thanks for the upload
But Michalczewski has more than that in a long reign, two weight champ and some good names as well. I would expect that if Hopkins had of retired after his MW reign had ended that he would likely have got in the HOF. Do you not think?
Lots of fighters had many fan friendly fights. Look at say Carl Thompson who was often in exciting fights.
To be honest, yeah, can see Hops getting in after his run at MW ended. But as that wasn't the end, sort of moot. He did have a MW record going for him though.
