Mate, you are massively simplifying it. Elite bodybuilders who do the least strenuous amount of cardio & most lifting of ANY ATHLETE ON EARTH will struggle to put that much mass on. And I doubt anyone comes close to their caloric & protein consumption, as well as gear consumption too. It’s obvious he is not natty.
But they’re going to be much bigger than Joshua mass wise and surely there are other factors when you’re lifting that heavy...must be a point where you can’t lift anymore because of what ligaments and tendons can take. Look at the state of Ronnie Coleman now. Would be interested in the science behind it...
They say Michael Phelps eats 12,000 calories a day when training. That is an absurd amount of food. Apparently he never goes over 200lbs when competing neither. Think of the amount of cardio that man must do, he needs those calories to stop himself wasting away to nothing! Now imagine the calories you would need to pack on huge gains in muscle and train cardio. It's hard to imagine any man could physically eat the amount required for that!
For those people in the know training wise. If an average man was to do lots of heavy weightlifting but also went on a massive diet, eating like 1500 calories a day, what would happen to him? Would he just lose weight from burning calories but put on no muscle?
^would probably struggle with energy levels and lack the nutrients to recover. Not that I’m in the know.
I always find it hilarious that Coleman was a member of the police whilst competing .... that monster who was clearly on the gear was a copper, yet he was never tested or it even questioned at the time.
Are rugby players on the gear? They are big guys and playing at a high intensity for 80 minutes... I find it hard to believe that they’re all on it too...
Most of them probably are. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/a...-transform-skinny-teen-Wallabies-skipper.html Just read that. What Pocock did is simply not humanly possible without using not just steroids, but a serious amount of them. No matter how good your genetics are or how hard you train, the human body just does not work like that and there is no debate to be had on this. Now this is one of the most high profile players in the world, playing on the international stage, so the testing is either not up to much or non-existent. Because he is categorically, 100% not natty.
never Believe the daily mail... I’d be amazed if he put in 20kg of pure muscle in months but by the sounds of things he got into weight training at 15, would’ve still been growing, so not crazy that he’d gain a lot of lean mass over that period, especially if he shot upwards as well...the 20kgs in months is probably daily mail sensationalism...200 months is still months... Not trying to be a troll here, just struggling with the concept that every one who is big is on steroids... Next you’ll be telling me all strongmen are on steroids (kidding - they aren’t even tested for them so of course they are). Edit: that said...I go watch a lot of rugby and both George Kruis and Owen Farrell bulked up a lot when they were out injured (literally sat next to both at games)...I put that down to focussing purely on weight training for that period though.
I’m not trying to be a dick, but I’ve read your posts on this and I don’t think you really understand it. What’s also phenomenal about Joshua’s bulking up is that he’s stayed at a maximum of around 10% body fat (often much lower) whilst gaining muscle and doing insane amounts of cardio. Rugby players or strongmen don’t need low body fat necessarily. Many strongmen basically eat whatever they want and don’t do much cardio if any so it’s a poor comparison.
Pocock went from 95kg to 115 kg in a very short period of time, it was after Stuart Hooper became first choice 7 and he we moved to 8 so needed to bulk up. This was after he was injured in around 2013 and by the time he came back a year later he was 20kg heavier. Like I said, it is physically impossible to pack on that much pure muscle in that amount of time without steroids, no matter who you are. Even bodybuilders with great genetics who are bulking and not doing any cardio can't come close to that without massive amounts drugs. So a professional rugby player doing lots of cardio? Like I said, this isn't even debatable. Plus Pockcok, at just 5ft 11, was likely already at his natural limit at 95kg, which is another dead give away. He even has less body fat at 115kg than he did 95kg ffs. It's 100% roids mate, it's irrefutable.
Nowhere near as individually intense, it's very stop start rugby and yes I do think peds are rife in all sports.
