He's won multiple vacant belts, so he clearly hasn't had an interest in fighting "the man" for a belt (although he did beat Lee).

Won't go near Canelo or GGG (actually admitted he wanted him to age).

Has fought ONE decent name outside of Lee, and that was Lemiux (and, other than power, what has he done?).

And now has moved UP a division to fight for ANOTHER vacant belt.

    So, to recap...

    Always fights for vacant belts
    Won't fight an elite name/fighter
Has ridiculous bouts of inactivity thus killing any momentum he has (see the Leimux fight)
    Isn't must-see
    Doesn't draw big numbers

What is the end game for this guy? Because his career is poor and it makes no sense on any level.

When CEJ is arguably the biggest or second biggest name on your resume, and he hasn't achieved a thing, and you have been pro for 10 years, that speaks volumes.

BJS is all about the money. If he hadn't been done with the PED fiasco he'd probbaly be in-line for a huge payday for the MW unification fight.

He would of been well aware all he needed to do is bide his time, which is what he did do.

He will probably fight Andrade but on his financial terms effectively. He's certainly not going to fight him now for 25% when he's just seen his last potential big payday go up in smoke.

He's very much in the Mayweather mould of he will fight on his terms, when the money is there.

Hearn said he offered Saunders pretty much 50%

I think it’s safe to say that Billy Joe will go down as the biggest waste of Talent in British boxing history. If not the biggest then certainly right up there at the top.

Since beating Andy Lee he’s had 4 fights in 3 and a bit years and one of them was at cruiserweight!

Too many fans hide behind the myth that GGG and Canelo are avoiding him.

What money? He was worthless WITH a belt, never mind without one.

Who the hell believes that? I remember an interview with Saunders a few years ago where he oponely admitted to not wanting the GGG fight. He said 'a fighter like tat you want to catch on the way down, let him have a few wars first then i'll face him'. Obviously thats not word for word but its pretty much bang on what he said.

I despise Saunders on so many levels haha.

Canelo blantently didn't want that smoke
Might have had a change of heart but at one stage he wasn't interested

I get the feeling BJS is in no rush to work with Hearn again
He blames him for the ol nasal spray stuff

It's not Eddie's fault but obviously BJS and team do not agree

He has been avoided. He did say a few years ago about wanting to catch GGG at the right time, that’s true. He was calling GGG out after the Lemieux fight and Goldenboy wanted nothing to do with him after that display.

I’m not a fan of Saunders outside the ring but inside it he is brilliant on his day. The dislike of BJS is justified, however.

    Stupid thread

"Fights for vacant belts" - The world title he won was not for a vacant belt. Did you know GGG also only won one of his world titles in the ring?

"Ducked Canelo and GGG" - he signed to fight GGG twice and was arranged to fight Canelo until Canelo saw his performance against Lemiuex and pulled out of negotiations

Get your facts straight before you make a thread

After that display? Canelo would have done an even better job on Dave and stopped him brutally.

He could have fought better opposition but obviously, the fights weren't made for whatever reason. I don't think that is down to BJS. There is an opportunity to pick up another strap. Take it! Nobody says **** when Canelo fights fodder like Fielding to gain a strap.

Also what’s the idea behind the move to 168? Does he want to win a belt, avoid real challengers in 50/50 fights (Andrade) and hopefully capitalise by fighting Eubank and/ or DeGale, as this would probably be more lucrative.

Yet Canelo just fought GGG twice, Mayweather, Cotto, Lara etc...
