Regardless of whether Garcia wins or loses against Spence do people think he'll move back down in weight, or remain within the 147 division?

No decision will be made regardless of the result. The whole decision will be based on the fight...

Mikey's not gonna move down in weight, I don't think. Maybe for Lomachenko at 140. The money fights are at welterweight.

He’ll scour 140 for no hopers. He’ll never fight Loma.

it would make no sense to, theres nothing worth it below 147. names are still being established at 140, and 135 only has loma whos fighting shoulder test fights for the foreseeable future. i think his performance vs spence will establish him as a legit player at welter, where there are multiple sellable fights for him.

    He's getting savaged against Spence.

At which point he'll look for former 140lbers that he can match up with at 147lbs. Danny Garcia being an obvious choice.

The problem at 140lbs is there are no money fights and the champs are largely TopRank guys.

    He cannot make 135lbs anymore.

My guess is he'll go as low as 140. Maybe stay there unless a $$$ fight come up.

We'll see how he looks at 147. If he's got a lot of belly fat, he doesn't below there.

Even if he doesn't want to, Spence will beat him down and force him to move back down.

If he stays it will just be a face saving move but his best bet is to go back down. He will be better served if he does because if he stays he will be the second tier at 147 along with Swift, Porter, Ugas and Thurman. Crawford and Spence is the top and he won't overcome that.

Once you move up in weight properly and hang it on your frame, it's usually a bad idea trying to drop back down to a former weight class. Mikey has moved up to 147 properly, he slowly but progressively has put on a lot of muscle and his body has been adjusting and getting used to it as its progressed and now feels natural.

Mikey is too good -- or possibly great -- for Spence to just run through him like he was nothing. Too many people here are selling Mikey way too short. I'm not saying he wins, but whoever does win, I guarantee its razor close to the point that this forum will argue about its results worse than Vitali vs. Lewis.

And no matter what, Mikey DESERVES MAD RESPECT for moving up a weight class against a p4p ranked fighter who is naturally bigger than him and more athletic than him, and who is considered a stone cold killer at 147. In what way or world is that not one of the most admirable challenges taken on on recent history. He didn't even flip a coin, he just said **** Spence and he's gonna get in the ring and buck like a ****ing bull. Win or lose thats Tommy gun gangster ****.
