In retrospect, if Fury would not have been able to get up it would have cleared a lot of things....

One would see Fury as a negative fight spoiler with no pop and a so so chin.........Heavies are supposed to do real damage, Fury aint doing none, for the fans of his style maybe but the public usually pays for bangers at Heavyweight.

One would see Wilder as very limited but can bang you out with one shot......and it is very difficult to ice a top level 250 pound 6'8 fighter with one shot........average fans want to see brutal ko's from Heavies and Wilder usually delivers.

It would have un muddled the AJ/Wilder fight because the hype and demand from the public would have been for real......I am not saying that they would have met right away but it is safe to say within 9-12 months.

But now it is all finger pointing , "ducking", $$$$$$ and he "does not need fighter X" , "robbed" etc etc.

If Wilder fights Brezeale next, I think Fury/Whyte is a real possibility. If that happens, it won't be boring, nor a disappointment. You'll see a top four guy completely immobilized and TKO'd. Likewise Luis Ortiz!

I hope it's whyte but if it's not him or Wilder then it's gonna stink , the 80 million ain't true it can't be , how they gonna recoup any money ?

By making big fights, obviously. If the 80 million wasn't true, we would've heard already. Does Ortiz/Fury stink? If anything it's a tougher fight for Fury than Whyte.

It's impossible to fight Wilder and AJ five times in this deal. He's obviously going to have to fight a few of the best of the rest. Perhaps Fury will make a little less than 16 million for fighting a Dillian Whyte, and a little more than 16 million for fighting a Deontay Wilder.

I assume when the five fights are completed, Fury will have earned in and around the 80 million widely speculated.

From the press conference to the ring, Whyte wouldn’t know what’s hit him if he signs to fight Fury.

An absolute mental & physical beat down would ensue.

Fury won't be fighting Pulev next. Pulev is fighting Bogdan Dinu next. Fury won't be fighting Ortiz next. Ortiz is fighting Hammer next. So I think Fury against somebody like Oscar Rivas is probably as good as it's going to get for his next fight. Fury's deal can be justified from Tyson Fury's perspective, but from a boxing fan's perspective, who just want the best fights to happen, how can anybody be happy about this? Fury's new deal with ESPN is a massive blow IMO.

I would be dissapointed if Fury/Wilder aint next but Fury vs Whyte would be excellent. The build up would be legendary for sure!

@Aydamn how do you think your boy does against Fury?

Nah chief it's dependant on a couple of million in ppv buys , 80 million is the ceiling not the reality.

Where have you seen the details, chief! Feel free to post them. And don't just say "so and so said......" I want a quote that states Fury needs a couple of million PPV buys to get paid his full amount. Isn't ESPN a subscription streaming service anyway? So it's likely only Wilder/AJ fights would be PPV. He'll be paid handsomely regardless who he fights.

    I'll wait on said quote......

If Fury does not fight Wilder next then I reckon his next opponent will be someone like Pulev or Parker. It definitely won't be Whyte as Hearn and Warren would never agree to anything. Also am I the only person who thinks Whyte would actually beat Fury if they agreed to fight?

I think Fury would probably win but I don't think it would be the masterclass some think. He didn't beat Wlad or Wilder particularly convincingly. In fact, it's hard to beat anyone that convincingly if you throw five punches a round.

To break even on the Fury deal if it's 80 million then it's going to need to gross 40 million per fight to break even how can this happen without a couple of of million ppv's ? It's illogical ?

Aram said words to the effect he doesn't know Where the figure 80 million has come from

Start from around 2:45, and Arum explains that the £80m is a fiction.
