WBO lightweight world title eliminator, on the Crawford vs. Kahn undercard at Madison Square Garden. The latest WBO rankings have current European 135lb champ Tatli at #3 and unbeaten Honduran-American phenom & former amateur whiz López at #10.

Tatli's pair of professional defeats to date have come by MD and SD respectively, the former against light-hitting but technically sound Cuban spoiler Richard Abril in a failed bid for the WBA lightweight title, and the latter against light-hitting but technically sound Italian-Belgian workhorse Francesco Patera, later avenged. In the rematch Tatli reclaimed his EBU belt (defended once since), first claimed in 2015 with a UD over Yvan Mendy, his most important win to date.

López is on a dominant run of four consecutive nationally televised kayo victories. Most recently he battered longtime contender Diego Magdaleno a month ago, unifying the USBA, NABF and vacant NABO lightweight titles and cementing himself as more than merely a prospect and "ready for prime time".

I'd much rather see Fimo take on Patera, let's see if he's truly the real deal or just another Lewis Ritson.:deal:

Teomofo by KO. I like his attitude, he shows and proves every time and he wants a shot at the titles from anyone.

Tatli is a decent boxer with a good engine, but he´s a bit basic and predictable and doesn´t have heavy hands. Lopez wide UD or late TKO, this coming from a Finn..

How did Tatli go to #3 in WBO rankings :dunno, pretty sure he wasn't in the top-15 last month and he's done nothing.

Tatlis underrated. He's a legit contender, but he's in there with a young Salvador Sanchez/ Duran level talent... and I don't say that lightly. Tatli has .22s to hold off a rhino. Lopez TKO-6.

I wonder about it as well. The last competition Tatli participated was the Finnish version of 'Dancing With Stars' which he won last September. He danced well by the way. He was not in WBO ranking list before, however he has been listed in IBF throughout last year where he ranked #3-4 behind Chaniev and Commey. But I guess someone recently made a request to have him rated in WBO as well.

Edis Tatli is currently both #3 in WBO and IBF. Good move by Lopez. If he manages to defeat Tatli, he will undoubtly ranked at the top of both organization lists and probably will raise his rank in WBC as well.

Well, as i reported a couple weeks ago that Teofimo will fight Finland-based albanian Edis Tatli next.
True, Tatli lacks pop, and i'm a little worried if he carries a punch that could trouble Lopez.
But make no mistake, Tatli is a good boxer with excellent conditioning and coaching.
Winner will get a title fight, loser goes back to drawing board.
Lopez late tko, too much to lose for the american prospect.

Not going anywhere, unless Tatli pulls off a large upset.

Tatli 12 years veteran but still young at the age of 31 takes on one of the hottest prospects in boxing, Teofimo Lopez.

Everyone knows Lopez and his talent, some of you might know Tatli too. Two talented fighters with flashy styles but Lopez is a way way bigger puncher.

Experience vs Youth, classic match up. Tatli needs a win to get his last run to world title and on the other hand Lopez is building a damn good resume for a fighter with only 12 fights.

Tatli top-3 wins: Yvan Mendy, Francesco Patera, Mzonke Fana
Lopez best wins (already equals with Tatli's): Menard and Magdaleno (ko victories)

    Any thoughts!?
