I mean the only thing he should work on is pure boxing, speed and stamina. Why more muscles? He is already pretty stiff and should lay off all muscle-building exercises till the end of his career, I don't see how can it help him now. Quite the opposite, his mobility will go down as long as he trains and I don't understand why the trainers won't tell him to stop.
His muscles will dissappear and he`ll lose his strength he was far too thin in the Olmpics as was Lennox Lewis, he`ll need strength in the clinches against Miller to push him back because his weight is massive, Wilder was pushed around easily by Fury on the inside according to Deontay, he also said he wants to put muscle on but I feel he should build up is puny legs.
Yeah I’m surprised because the experts on here say he’s up to his eyeballs with PED’s. Surely no need when he’s gaining all this unnatural strength.
Steroids don't put muscles on the body by themselves You still have to work the muscles and expose them to stress so they can rebuild. Using steroids simply brings faster results and less recovery time depending on the cocktail Joshua is cycling.
Going by a few side by side videos I've seen of Miller and AJ, Millers overall strength, as in actual weight lifting is considerably greater than AJ's. Miller actually has a strong man build with a huge barrel chest, shoulders, back and huge thighs. AJ is built more like a scaled up 100m sprinter. I actually think that AJ needs to box and move and launch those explosive, surprise combos whilst keeping Miller at range with a stiff jab and counter 1-2's. If he starts to brawl and mawl with Miller, he's going to gas much more quickly and could easily find himself in trouble. From watching a lot of AJ's training vids, the last thing he's trying to do is pile on muscle. The weights are too low and the reps too slow paced and controlled more to avoid injuring himself. His lifting technique is actually very correct and precise. Most of his explosive lifting techniques are centred around his back and legs. If anyone is training to put on more muscle mass, it's Miller, some of the deadlifts and bench press I've seen him do have been damned impressive.
Yeah, okay but still he can build strength and lose muscle. He has definetely too much of them and that's my point. Muscles do not equal power but so much of them do equal stiffness.
As I said, if he works on speed or stamina then of course there's nothing wrong with it. But this guy needs to lose muscle mass and since he came pro, he rather did the opposite.
i have watched 1000,s of fights and fighters and virtually all bar heavys are ripped to absolute shreds not an ounce of fat and none of them caught using drugs yet joshua being ripped is definatley on drugs wilder is ripped jennings is ripped it seems you should not be in boxing shape if you are heavy if you want to avoid drug accusations on esb and yet miller whyte fury ortiz 4 top ten heavies are the ones who have been caught using banned substances and none of these are body beautiful`s
It’s called strength and conditioning training and AJ clearly works a lot on mobility exercises. Lots of his non boxing training is very functional and scientifically applied to the sport. Ironically you often see Fury popping up on Instagram replicating (poorly) many of AJ’s S&C exercises.
Of course I realize he does strength, conditioning, speed and mobility trainings, just like any other boxer. My problem with AJ is that while he is clearly too big in terms of muscle mass and because of that he is stiff in the ring, he still does weight training which either helps him to gain or maintain muscles. His weight may be even on point, but there is too much muscle mass on this guy, he needs to loosen up. Miller is a good example, he is fat and weights more than AJ while being shorter, but he is fat, he is not all muscles like Joshua and that's one of the reasons why he is much less stiff in the ring.
I do agree that AJ has too much muscle mass but if AJ blows Miller out of there early (as I expect him to) why mess with a formula that has won him 8 world title championship bouts in just 23 pro fights? I see AJ looking very loose and explosive in training but come fight night he does tense up but that’s dealing with nerves and Adrenalin. People forget how green he is in comparison to so many of the top 10, yet his resume shames them all
