Seen on twitter he has had to call it a day, he won two titles albeit the International Masters and a slightly more impressive IBO Inter-Continental, I can't think of any other Scottish born Heavyweight to win any title ( correct me if I'm wrong?) and retiring with a record of 25-2.
Good decision, and I wish him the best in his new career. But I have to believe there have been much better heavyweights from Scotland in the past, because he wasn't very good and his record is one of the most padded I've ever seen in boxing.
It’s worth mentioning that he’s retired after a medical advice following a brain scan. Shame for him but good to see he has taken action before something tragic was to happen in the ring.
Not to this extent. Wilder's fist 20 fights were murderer's row compared to Cornish. I just took a look at his record, to put it in numbers. All but 2 of the guys he beat, have a losing record nowadays and the other two are still very low level journeymen. You can make a very strong case, that (the) Kamil Sokolovski is by far the best opponent he beat (much better as his poor 6-15-2 record indicates).
1 loss to AJ which doesn't look to bad now. He lost to a British level Sexton afterwards. Not a bad record. Scotland's best ever heavyweight probably is a dig at Scotland more than anything.
