Best display of a fighter beating another fighter at their own game

There's been plenty but what are some of the best examples of a fighter that chose to fight the other guys fight and actually end up winning? Basically a fighter that chooses to fight differently than usual to beat another fighter at their own game when it's expected to be an advantage for the other guy. Outboxing the supposedly superior boxer or outfighting the supposedly superior fighter.

Canelo choosing to pressure and slug with GGG when it was expected to be the other way around was a good display of that.

The instances where the style changer actually wins are pretty rare now that I think about it, I can think of many times where it led to a loss. (Ex. Hearns trying to brawl with Hagler)

I like Hearns out boxing Leonard in the Second fight (which I scored for Hearns)

 

Though that was really Fury's standard fight at that point.

I recall during the third Ali-Frazier fight, between rounds late in the fight Eddie Futch yelling at Frazier, "Don't be slugging it out with him!" That statement alone had to take the wind out of Frazier's sails.

Canto uncharacteristically TKOd Takada, the only TKO of his title run.

 

Quintana taking Williams to school in their first fight measuring the distance, timing, counters, jabs , lead lefts, everything despite giving up the height and reach …. Paul solved the problem fast in the rematch tho

How about Hearns outboxing Hill as well? Tommy had lost half a step by 1991 and was against a guy much more naturally at home in the Light-Heavyweight division. But after the first two or three rounds he started outjabbing and timing Hill, despite facing a speed disadvantage. Given where Hearns was at in 1991, he should in theory have only had a puncher's chance. Great performance.

McCallum against Jackson might qualify too, I guess. McCallum was in a different class to Jackson as a stylist, but instead he ended up having a shootout with him...and winning. No mean feat.

 

Hearns - Hill is a good one. McCallum - Jackson with the benefit of hindsight. Took him on in the pocket.
